Vols should love Beamer. He’s funny. He’s not a dick, but he says (at least by implication) borderline outrageous stuff from time to time. He’s a competent HC for SC, and the rivalry will be fun going forward. Like, what’s the problem?

1) First of all congrats to the Vols, they had a great year, and certainly better than I expected. I think they got in one of the best bowls( more prestigious than the Sugar bowl, IMO), also a more prime TV time (8:00PM vs 11.00 AM). We will get more respect if we beat Dildo rather than Kansas State.

2) There are no teams I hate more than OSU, Michigan and Notre Dame, but I'll be rooting for all 3 in their bowl games. Bennet's arrogance showed the other day in the SECCG. I can't stand the guy. I hope UGA gets a big piece of humble pie, and it wouldn't hurt USC Jr either. Damn you would think USC Jr won the SEC or something.

3) Huepel deserves the coach of the year award. Should be based on the WHOLE years accomplishments, not just on 2 games by Beamer.;)

It’s the same prestige. Just different tie-ins. If you’re an SEC homer you could argue sugar is more prestigious because they get pick or the non-sec playoff litter.

Not out-coached. Perfect storm—we played our crappiest pass defense (minus bonehead Jeremy Banks) while their quarterback played a lucky once-in-a-lifetime Heisman type of game. We will dismantle them in Knoxville next year.

Nor do we get to forget the ass beating they gave us which cost us a place in the Championship playoffs. He ended up with a much better football than anyone, other than him, thought possible. I have no idea how his football team will be next year, but I hope we never overlook him again.

I saw our defense lay down, a sh!t field and a really darn good QB dissect a piss poor secondary. Plus crowd was rocking and SCar pumps the speakers LOUD. It was a bad team performance exacerbated by a QB having a career game.

But yeah delusional... hardly. You just see it the way you want to see it I guess.

No. He got hammered by Florida and looked like ass against Mizzou and Kentucky. So he had a qb with a once in a lifetime game vs us. That’s SoCars championship every season. One game where they get to say “we will never be a champion or even that good but we snuck up on…….” Georgia in 2017 for example. Shane Beamer is a Dufuss they can keep him.

And the only silver lining from the South Carolina loss is that it probably keeps Beamer there for an additional year or two. The fans had all but given up before that game.
