Shooting in El Paso

Not really.

Ok now I’m confused , there are more registered vehicles in the US than registered firearms , just as many deaths from both , more injuries from vehicles . Why are people screeching for one but not the other ?

@evillawyer any answer to this? Also, I really want to know how Mexico has only 3 according to this.

Also laughing at Saudia Arabia on the list. You want to enact their laws here?

It's usually either 3 or 4 shot in a shooting. Some have more strict definitions, requiring 3 or 4 fatalities.

I’m having a hard time reconciling that with the manifesto that has been attributed to the killer where he essentially said he would not be taken alive.
Perhaps he thought it would allow him to better concentrate on the task at hand.

272 million vehicles, 390 million guns.
Vehicles are currently a necessary component for the normal functioning of society.

What you said earlier was you want there to be less guns I’m guessing that you are hoping the deaths will go down . If there are less cars but just as many deaths and more injuries I’m not following your logic , Unless you are saying every single vehicle is needed in the normal functioning of society .

That seems to be the sad reality......at least for now.

The Small Arms Survey stated that U.S. civilians alone account for 393 million (about 46 percent) of the worldwide total of civilian held firearms. This amounts to "120.5firearms for every 100 residents."

It's sort of like the national debt. The best we can do in the short term is to reverse the trend and at least head in a sane direction.
So you’re saying we have more guns in the USA than people?

If the sole purpose of firearms is to kill, then why aren’t we all dead?

I'm not following your logic.
Fewer guns would lead to fewer deaths by guns.
Fewer vehicles would lead to fewer deaths and injuries.
Everything has a cost/benefit that is weighed by society as a collection of individuals.
Vehicles and guns have differing cost/benefit ratios. (as determined by society)

I could argue that the ability of the citizenry to keep the government in check by force if necessary was seen as a necessary component for a normal functioning democracy
You could, but it's not an argument that supports unlimited and unregulated access to all arms.
