Shooting in Las Vegas @ Jason Aldean Concert

“There’s plenty of regulations now” says the only country where mass shootings continue to happen.

Nope, Mass Shootings have recently happened in France and Norway (80+ died). Many died and they have very strict gun laws that were ignored.

As I thought. Nothing but more regulation on firearms.

I don't know if we need tighter regulation. I really don't. I just think we need to sit down and try to hash out some solutions and simply disregarding how the purchase of firearms are made is irresponsible. Maybe at the end of the day some regulations are loosened as they are not effective and unnecessary. Maybe there's more regulation in other areas as they're ineffective and outdated. I honestly don't know. The only point I'm trying to make is we need to find a way to help prevent the senseless violence and this needs to be part of the conversation.

It’s not my job to enact legislation. You want to vote for me? I’ll get right on it.

As a voter is it your job to support candidates with legislation ideas? I would assume you would agree with that and that you are informed on the subject. So what ideas have you heard that would prevent these events?

I’m curious as well

We are also the most depressed country and have the highest number of people on anti-depressant and the like drugs.

Want to guess how many of these mass shooters were on these drugs?

You miss the shootings in Europe and Canada where they’re not allowed to have guns?

Good point.

If regular honest people were in Congress, we may could get somewhere but that is not what we have unfortunately. We have Politicians whose first objective is to get re-elected.

ok - I'm done since we're back to "everything but" and I don't see that changing. Regardless, I appreciate your comments and respect your opinions. :good!:

You miss where I said continue?

You miss current events? These things are still happening elsewhere. Just because it didn’t in the past week, doesn’t mean it won’t again. There have been mass shootings in other countries in recent years.

I understand. If we had people like you in the DC, we might could get somewhere.

I've got one for you.

How about when a person is prescribed anti-depressants or other mood altering or mental health drugs the Dr. has to report it to the local authorities and the NICS? The local authorities then confiscate all firearms in the residence and that person is barred from purchasing more until cleared by some sort of mental health board.

Of course. But until gun nuts can understand the fact that regulations don’t mean banning all guns all the time from everybody, we’re unlikely to get anywhere.

Thank you sir. I often feel as though I'm a lone moderate and sea of bi-partisan politics being attacked from both sides. It seems there's very little room for compromise these days.

and the NRA will continue to shape the argument in that very way

Certainly making it far more difficult more people diagnosed with mental health issues is a start.
