Should Tennessee be a 1 seed?

Truth hurts bub, can't wait for one of his teams patented offensive droughts to cost him again

Doesn’t essentially EVERY team in the NCAA have offensive droughts?

It must suck for you that Barnes has had his patented spot in the top 25 the entire season (and the top 10 for 8 straight weeks). I miss the good ole days when we were a bubble team and the NCAAT selection show was really exciting.

FWIW, Katz has us as a 1 seed today. Houston, Purdue, Alabama, Tennessee.
Dang. Must be going off the eye test method. We’ve played a pretty week schedule last two months. Pretty much the bottom of the SEC, which is bad. The only two decent teams since November beat us (Arizona, Kentucky). I guess this is all good, though. Just wanna get into the tournament every year and see what happens. That’s pretty much what college hoops is now.

I think it more has to do with those above us losing and to whom. Kansas on the road, AZ to a bad Oregon team, Houston loss last night was terrible. Somehow the Colorado loss is the best to them.

Yes, the whole country seems beatable. No one standing out. Except Bama for me. Seems like they don’t plan on slipping up at all.

Yeah Bama is ridiculous. While most teams have one good 3 point guy they have several, so when one has an off night someone else picks up the slack. They're also long and athletic freaks who somewhat defend well. Oats needs to go to the NBA I'm tired of him.

It's my expectation of a Barnes coaches team until he changes it.

Yeah, that's not what you said though. You explicitly stated you hoped Tennessee loses so that you can prove some stupid point about our coach whom you have an unhealthy obsession with. Get a life. Your troll game has been exposed and is pathetic.

The I worded it poorly.
I actually told some people on another part of this board before the UK game I actually thought Barnes would shut me up, but after that game I don't have much fear of it.
You would be very oncorrext about this one, not trolling at all.

Kansas State, Tennessee lead major shakeup of the Power 36 college basketball rankings | NCAA.com

Men's college basketball rankings: The Power 36 for Week 9
Last week's rankings in parentheses
1. Purdue (2): The separation continues with Purdue and the rest of the Big Ten. Sure, the games are getting closer, but they still can actually close them out.
2. Alabama (6): The Tide have established themselves as the SEC’s best — so far.
3. Tennessee (10): The Vols are setting up for a monster showdown with the Tide on Feb. 15 in Knoxville.
4. Kansas State (12): The Wildcats got the home sweep over Kansas and Texas Tech.
5. TCU (11): The Horned Frogs bounced back off the loss to West Virginia and dominated Kansas in Lawrence.

6. UCLA (4): The Bruins were within a few possessions against Arizona from sweeping the state.
7. Kansas (1): The Jayhawks are suddenly in a real fight for the Big 12 title after losing at Kansas State and at home to TCU.
8. Texas (7): The Longhorns got a sweep on a road swing to Iowa State and Oklahoma State, finishing the trip on the latter.
9. Houston (3): The Cougars lost at home to Temple by one, the second home loss of the season.
10. Baylor (34): The Bears are 4-3 and back in the Big 12 chase.

As a team they aren’t amazing from 3, pretty average % wise, just 2-3 guys you can’t leave open…what they do really well is rebound, they get a lot of their misses and they don’t give up offensive rebounds either as they’re #1 DRB team in country, so they get themselves extra possessions compared to their opponents. Then add in the bombing away from 3 and you can see how things spiral out of control quickly playing against them.

Half of their shots come from 3, seeing how we are the best 3pt defense in the country it should make for an interesting matchup. Our guards have to stay in front of theirs, they get by you that’s when the quick passes and open 3’s start happening. Bediako is a big body that’s intriguing too, not a stretch threat at all but he’s mobile so they put you in those 1/5 pick and rolls and either make you switch a big on their guard or left with your big trying to run back to defend Bediako at the rim.

That post coupled with him saying, he hopes Dilione transfers to proves some point about Barnes is about as obvious as it gets.

I was just looking at their stats and noticed that, rebounding is their big advantage. I think it was in here somewhere someone posted a stat about them, but after they shoot a 3, Bama rebounds the ball like 40% of the time or something like that. I think the key to beating them is keeping them to one shot.
Also, I think they are one of the next teams in the nation but it wouldn't surprise me to see them go out early. Reason being when teams starting playing in these bigger arenas and stadiums with an unfamiliar backdrop it's easy to go cold.

So, to be clear, you can't wait for Tennessee to fail so you can be "right"?

That isn't narcissistic at all.
At least he’s clear about it. No doubts about it. So, let’s see, a supposed Vol fan who openly says that on a Tennessee message board. Hmmmm……

I admittedly haven’t watch more than about 5 minutes of Bama, might take today and watch their game against Houston actually since I’m home sick, but they also are among the best in the country at getting to the free throw line which is interesting given they’re seen as a 3pt team, those things don’t usually go together. From looking at stats it appears Miller, Bradley & Sears all take a bunch of 2’s as well, which knowing Oats philosophy I’m assuming those are driving to the basket within 3’ type of 2’s, thus drawing a lot of contact.

COVID? Hope you make it out ok and feel better soon.
They're thought of as a 3 point team because they're at the top of the list at attempts per game. They're 5th in the country at 29.6 attempts per game.

Nah, think they a bug or something, appreciate it…and yea I know they do shoot a bunch of 3’s, just surprising that they get to FT line more than just about everyone as well, those things don’t usually go together.
