Should the Osama death pictures be released?

OBL 's demise was just for his actions. Its really irrelevant what banner his name was under. He was wrong, he paid for it no different than many before him.

One thing that has my curiosity however.

The president made it clear (and has several times, along with the previous one) that we are not at war with Islam. Which isn't really hard to understand. What I can't figure out, why did we follow muslim ritual in regards to his body. It seems like we are trying to separate him from Islam, but in the same we are not.

Great point. If he was a "radical" or "extremist" Muslim or had hijacked the "religion" he should not have had a traditional Muslim burial.

Point missed again. He did not have traditional burial. The only thing followed was the burying of the body within 24 hours. Burial at sea not facing Mecca is not a traditional burial.

Obama said the remains had been handled in accordance with Islamic custom, which requires speedy burial.

An official at Monday’s Pentagon briefing said the body, once aboard the USS Carl Vinson, was washed and placed in a white sheet. It was then placed in a “weighted bag,” and a military officer read prepared “religious remarks,” which were translated into Arabic by a “native speaker” who was not further identified.

Did realize at sea was traditional. Who gives a crap about a sponge bath and a left over white sheet from the laundry room. And was he facing Mecca?

Made need to get a scientist in here. But wouldn't it be possible depending on how he stuck at the bottom? (assuming he made it that far):)

Religious remarks that were translated into Arabic. With that and the sheet, the bath and being buried within 24 hours. Not sure what else you need.

Yes but people will still question if they are real or fake. Some people still question if we actually landed on the moon.

Again, the sea? Facing Mecca? The rest of it is political rhetoric not to piss off the middle east.

As Beecher wrote, the man would have to have incredible luck if the fishes pointed him in the right direction.

I met quite a few Muslim students who were exchange students at my college. Very nice and good people. These whacko nutjob extremists do not represent the majority. In fact, I've had quite a few of them say to me that they were glad that Bin Laden got his due.

A Senior US Official tells CNN 10 hard drives, 5 computers and more than 100 storage devices which includes discs, DVDs and thumb drives were taken from the compound.
The senior us official also says the White House received 3 sets of photos yesterday. The photos included:
1. Photos of OBLs body at a hangar after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It’s very bloody and gory.
2. Photos from the burial at sea on the USS Carl Vinson. Photos of OBL before the shroud was put on and then wrapped in the shroud.
3. There are photos of the raid itself that include photos of the two dead brothers, one of OBLs dead son (adult adolescent, maybe approx 18 yrs old) and some of the inside scene of the compound.
The official says the challenge is that the picture that includes the most recognizable image of OBLs face – from the hangar in Afghanistan – is so gruesome and mangled its not appropriate for say the front page of the newspaper. On the other hand, this is the one that is most identifiable as him.

Where did I say kill them all? Find that post for me. At the end of the day what you soft liberals don't understand is that if one of them commit murder, terror and violence or at least accept the acts they are a "good" Muslim, they are following the teachings of Allah.

Yes, because if someone has the good sense to separate a maniacal collective of extremists from 1.3 billion peaceful Muslims, they must be a pussywhipped liberal.

Typical.

Seriously, put down the pipe... and if you don't smoke, you need to.

So your defense of violent Muslims is to quote the bible? No thanks, I have seen that lame argument. How many Christians are killing thousands in the name of Christianity or in the name of God in the year 2011?

Right. Christians stopped killing in the name of God at least fifty years ago (unless one considers the nations in sub-Saharan African...but, really, those never count).
