You better put your money on Hart, he's smart enough to know if he gets the UT sports star shining bright again he'll be named with the elite. To do this he will have to find a new BB coach next year unless something changes drastically the rest of this season. CCM had better get it going or he will find an early exit so Bro. Dave can get a head start on the top choices. Your opinion of Dave Hart is your own and so is your feeling about where he has worked. The truth is that he is shrewd, nervy, and unconcerned about what his opposition thinks of him. It is not for the love of UT he will get this done, it is for how he will be viewed in the world of sports history that makes him go.

if i remember correctly, him and the D staff weren't offer the opportunity to stay as Vols,didn't Hart say nobody would get a contract extension over a year? and then Sal was brought in with a lengthy contract ?

Wilcox and Sunsei both had three year contracts. Wilcox's contract ended Dec. 31, 2013, that's the same day that Chaney's contract ended.

For Hart? Heck if I know, but Cuonzo really needs to make the tourney. If he doesn't this year and is kept on, then his seat will be red hot with a tougher road to travel next season.

U r exactly right. I'm not the biggest Hart fan up to this point, but Cheek has his hand in way to much. His name comes up way to much in regard to UT sports. That's a bad sign.

Even if u don't like a hire, u can't fire the AD because of that...I am sure most of the ppl (no all the ppl) wanting someone fired every time something doesn't meet their expectations, don't make large donations financially to the Athletic Dept...People u do realize that we people have contracts, and even if let go early, they still get most of the money on that contract, right?? Seeing we are not making bowl games in football nor making the "Big Dance" in basketball, the dept money pile is much smaller..

Didn't protect UT at all with Kiffin's lopsided contract
Hired Dooley
Mishandled the Pearl incident
Basically fired Pearl
Hired Martin on his way out the door

Here's what Hart has done, will do:

Woke up early Sunday morning to fire Dooley after Vandie loss
Hired bUTch Jones.
Will soon hire Bruce Pearl.

Throw in cleanup the massive financial mess.

I don't get the whole fire hart circle jerk. In the year he's been a here, I think he's actually overseen some changes that helped our football program.

We'll see going forward if he continues to do well or screws up, but so far I don't think we've seen any evidence that he should be fired.

Even if we had, I'm not sure we should fire him right now (unless it was something really egregious). Stability is what we need right now as much as possible.
