Me too. He's a dang good coach. I can't really fault him for sticking up for women's basketball. He can't criticize what's made him tons of money.

My favorite Geno rant was over Summitt. She always responded "Geno Knows" whenever asked about the UConn/Tennessee series. He shut her up pretty quick.

My favorite part of Geno's book is when he was recruiting a player(I don't remember who) and it was down to UConn/Tennessee. He asked the player what Tennessee's sales pitch was. The player responded by saying that all of the Tennessee players where at Pat's house wearing shirts with the players name and the Lady Vols symbol on it. Geno and the player both busted out laughing at this point. The player went to UConn.

really? he seems to be doing a good job of that lately.
he comes across as really insecure and fighting for validation in a sport that honestly no one cares about.
well unless you played the sport then i guess you would care

I just couldn't see Geno lasting very long in the NBA.

But I suppose it doesn't matter, as I don't see any way he ever leaves UCONN until he's ready to retire. Mostly because I think he's obsessed with making sure he wins more titles than Summitt, which is likely to happen if he stays.

Why would anyone be mad? For starters, men's and women's basketball aren't the same thing. Different aspects of the game are emphasized in women's basketball than in the men's game.

To be honest, while I'll watch the Lady Vols and pull for them when they're on, watching them play isn't particularly fun. The only women's team I like watching play is UConn. UConn actually plays basketball. Tennessee runs athletes at you and tries to wear you down. Sometimes I think Pat's coaching style is a combination of the most annoying features of John Thompson (the elder) and Kevin O'Neill. She wins a lot but it ain't pretty.

Which is what I don't get. Why wouldn't you want to move up in your profession? Isn't that what careers are all about? It's almost like an assistant coach staying as one even though he's got many HC offers.

Theres some solid logic. Women aren't as athletic as men. You aren't joevol's kid are you?
