Where I kind of agree with the OP, is it's time for a few more breaks to go our way...much like they did in'98, or Auburn last year. If I remember, AU was about 4 plays from losing 4 games last year. I'm not saying we win the NC, just that it seems for the last few years it feels like seemingly all the breaks/bounces have gone against us.

With that in mind, you can sort of make a case for the OP. We were a play away from potentially beating UGA. With average QB play, we had a legit shot at beating UF...or at least taking it to the wire. We were a 'block in the back' penalty from beating Vandy.

So, while not defending the OP, if a couple breaks go our way in the games listed above, UT wins 8 games last year, and is invited to a decent bowl in Jones' first year. Looking at it this way, I can understand folks thinking " maybe seeing some nice improvement may not be as far off as some believe".

Where I parted ways with the OP was him questioning the fandom of those of us exercising some discretion regarding this year's team. He's sick of guys like me who recognize the youth and inexperience of Team 118? A team that's about to play one of the 4 or 5 most difficult schedules in the country? He can have at it, I couldn't care less. Anyone with any sense is on the side of common sense, including Vegas who expects us to win 4 games. Is it possible UT notches 8 wins this year? Hell yeah it is. Is it probable?.... No.

Reading comprehension... it's a thing.

As has been pointed out CJM won a Nat at Pitt and recruited Dorsett. Certainly his tenure on The Hill factored into his HOF selection as well.

See im not calling you an Idiot but... People like you are the one's who will be calling for Butch's head if we don't get 10-2 this year and win A NATL title next season. Believe me all of us would be so happy if we won 8,9,10 games. But the truth of the matter is we are a young football team and we are playing in the SEC. This isn't the big 10. We will take our lumps this year, pull a few upsets and squeak into a bowl game. We are vastly more talented but still yet inexperienced. You can't expect a team full of freshman to just come in and dominate right away, not in this league. It is coming though patience buddy patience..

Saying we shouldn't ever be satisfied with 6 wins is hardly the same as saying we should fire Butch if we don't win 10 games. Butch has obviously done an amazing job and deserve our support.

Holler back when vandy is an auto W.....Like it used to be, and like it always should be. Until then , be patient......We're on the way back to the top in the east, just be cool..:rock2:
