So did Hooker lose the Heisman today?

Yes. It was all on the line in this game. The heisman, the sec championship, and the playoffs. There’s still a slim chance at the playoffs I guess. But of course the sec championship is gone now and so is the heisman.

Hooker tends to linger in the pocket. He had time to throw in the first half, for the most part--except for that hit in the end zone.

I think our receivers got exposed today--not explosive enough. Hyatt is--but our WRs struggled to get open today, it appeared.

We all think Peyton got hosed right? Remember the last month of 1997. Peyton had the game of his career against Kentucky, but that was sandwiched between South Carolina and Vanderbilt.

Remember these stats?
Vs South Carolina 1997- P. Manning 8/25, 126 yds, 32.0% 0 TD, 1 Int
vs. Vanderbilt 1997- P. Manning 11/27, 40.7%, 159 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

So everyone is down on Hendon after today against a clearly superior foe, but Peyton got robbed after those masterpieces? Hendon isn't Peyton, but he deserves the full support of this fanbase. He's the best we've had here in many years and had a bad game today. He's led this program from a 3-7 campaign to a likely 11-1 season. Build the man a statue and give him a street as far as I am concerned. Statistically, this may very well end up the best season by a QB in school history, and if he plays out the rest of the year against the easier half of the schedule, then it will be the greatest two year statistical career in school history. Nico will eventually surpass it (hopefully), but right now, appreciate everything Hendon has done for our program.

I personally view the award as worthless and don’t care about it or watch the presentation.

With that being said, I think that it is over and not going to happen as it will go to Stroud or Young.

I want to stay positive here but I think he did. Had he played better and we still lost, I think it would have been a different story.

Granted CJ Stroud also did not play well. It makes me think that someone else might jump into the picture.

Nix maybe. Depends who the media decides to start hyping up

I think he had a 50% chance had they won out. Now I'd say 20% or less. He held onto the ball too long, doesn't throw it away and took too many sacks tonight. O line, running backs and receivers didn't help him much. Scheme was not good tonight.

He's definitely no longer the front runner. Will need outstanding games to close out the schedule.

Hooker wasn't Heisman worthy today, but who's the new front runner then?
Is there ANY player standing out in a big way? Surely not the OSU QB.
Hooker may be back in contention in 2-3 weeks.

I don't want to say he's a "system QB" but when things don't go well (pass protecting or WRs not open) it's like he doesn't know what to do. I'm watching Daniel's for LSU move around and make plays and Young as well. I get Hook makes great decisions when he let's it go and usually makes great throws but good grief he will sit in that pocket and get sacked no matter how bad his line is playing.

Hooker might not have lost it, but I'll have to admit that Young might just have leaped to the top of the heap with what might be a game winning play vs LSU. Damn, that kid is good.

I love Hooker and this game hurts me cause I wanted him to win the HT, but how could you over look the QB that beat him today ?.

It ain't over yet. With Bama and Clemson losing, our chances of making the playoffs just got a lot better.

Yes. And the game. And the Cinderella season. And the preferred bowl game. And the recruiting. And the local economy. It’s all finished.
