So long--ut basketball

Maybe we can get Jesus Christ to coach our team? When you get a clue, feel free to post again. Until then, please don't reproduce.

This coming from someone who hasn't added anything worth reading to this thread? When you learn the game of basketball then we will talk until then I would much rather read about ut sports than argue with some dumb***. So long.

The vast majority of people have tried it...

.Wrong. No way the "vast majority" has tried it. Maybe just the crowd you run with. Don't try to justify your wrong doing by saying, " well everybody does it."

How? Instead of checking their VERTICAL, maybe they could check their background. Your friends and enemies know you pretty well. As far as attitude, I think the attitude problems just got arrested.

They didnt have anything wrong with their background. They did it while they were at college. If they did it in high school and did it again here, than you have the right to cry about our players.

I believe that he has lost 3 or 4 point guard recruits and has had to plug in Junior College guys to try to fill in. The kid from Chattanooga was going to be his big man but that did not work out as hoped. I think one of his flaws is rotating in too many people but that is a blessing and a curse. He appears to actually be a pretty good coach to me. Because not everyone wants to play for him or at Tennessee sometimes he has to make due with JC's, transfers, and other fixes.

I think that in his early years he seemed to do more with less but looking back Jujuan, and C. Lofton, were extremely good particularly at crunch time. If we had either one of those two this team would be smoking in my opinion. Our current wings are longer but not nearly as consistent with perimeter shooting or nearly as good on defense.

They kid from chatt was not going to be his big guy. He had trouble in high school.

The most important player of the 4 was Tatum IMO. Smith is a waste of talent-his bball IQ is that of a toddler. Williams is a decent rebounder but no athleticism, and Goins is an avg pg at best. Tatum was a good scorer but he has not been consistent and his 3 point shot has disappeared this year. Will be interesting to see how we respond against Char.

Although this is the actions of four moronic individuals, you would have to be extremely naĂŻve to bury your head in the sand and not see that this is yet another blaring example of Pearl's lack of discipline.

according to a few .org sites I googled, the number seems to hover around 40% of the U.S. population having tried marijuana at least once. Neither here nor there, and it seems to me it would be difficult to get an accurate number, but that's the prevailing statistic. Just thought I'd throw it out. :hi:

I was referring to his recommended coaches.

I am not sure what they did that some of you think they can be labeled thugs. I have had beer in my car. I have smoked weed. I have had a gun in my car sometimes. I do not rob, kill or intimidate. Am I a thug?

Just what makes a thug.? CERTAINLY NOT GUNS AND BEER.

In Alaska, is it legal to carry a gun in the car...
serious question

Just watched my last UT BB game. "Team leader" Tyler and his doping tattooed coharts won't be on my viewing list anymore. And thanks, Tyler, for projecting the thug image of the Vols right here at recruiting time. I would rather watch some good guys lose em all than watch that bunch again. Give em a pass if you want----no mas for me. Tennessee is an institution of higher learning---First and foremost, and one I am currently not very proud of.

Win at all cost? I think not.

I have no problem with this post as it clearly shows how frustrated he is. It's his right to express his anger so for you who would bid "good riddance" ...I ask, why do you respond that way? Are you threatened by someone's opinion THAT much that you can't even handle reading it?

Because if the actions of four morons causes some ignorant fans to quit watching and coming to games, it was a success.

You can take the kid out of the 'hood, but you can't take the 'hood out of the kid. Only they can make that decision. They just didn't feel there was enough incentive to stay clean.

From my perspective it boils down to bringing people into the program that you can trust to generally do the right things. Occassional toe stubbings are a part of life's learning experiences and acceptable as long as the core character of the individual is in place. I don't believe its the coach or the university job to parent and discipline the students and student-athletes. Here's what I'd like. I'd like to hear Hamilton make a statement as to what changes are going to be made to improve the the probablility that the players brought into the program are generally trustworthy to make sound decisions. Actually, I'd love to have a conversation with him about it, but I don't see that happening. If there are only a few of those that are blue chip athletes and they all end up going to the Dukes, Kansas and UNCs of the basketball world, then so be it. We'll just win less games and I can live with that just fine.

40% is not the 'vast majority.'
