So proud of my home state

Absolutely. I also believe insurers can/should have riders in their policies to where they won’t cover the medical if you’re not wearing a helmet.
So are you also anti seatbelt law? A helmet is 100x more protective than a seatbelt. The chances of surviving a motorcycle crash without a helmet are extremely low. I've ridden motorcycles since I was 5 and can't imagine going 70 without a helmet. Absolutely insane.

I don't need a seat belt law. If I'm driving or it's my car, everybody is wearing a seat belt. I don't need the extra liability.

I don’t ride a motorcycle, but if I did, I would absolutely wear a helmet. Too many dumb people driving cars. I got hit riding a bicycle years ago. I can only imagine being a projectile off a motorcycle at a higher speeds.

Yes, I’m anti-seatbelt laws but I always wore my seatbelt before the laws. I too won’t ride without a helmet but I should have the freedom to do so.

How is that any different from making it against the law.
In both cases, a person is free to choose not to wear it as long as they understand the consequences.
Of the two, I'd much prefer to be pulled over for not wearing a seat belt than have my insurance refuse to cover medical costs.

While we are at it can we ban this as well?

Because there would be a few insurance companies that would write those policies for more money.

Yes, I’ve been pretty darn clear on that. Legalize and treat them like we do booze.
Should there be an age limit on who can legally buy them?

I know you do not believe there should be for gun purchases.

lol.........No one stupid enough to choose not to wear a seatbelt is going to pay a higher premium for the right to exercise that stupidity.

Oh I’d be fine with it being 15 or 16 or none at all. But no higher than 18.

You said treat them like we do booze......that's 21.

I assume you would lower the age of legal alcohol purchase, along with all drugs and all guns, to 15 - or no age restriction at all.

Ok then what’s the problem? What’s your point?
That they have the freedom to choose to be stupid either way. It being illegal does not remove their choice.
No one is removing anyone's right to be stupid, they are just establishing penalties/punishments (just like higher premiums)

You could use that logic to justify any law. For instance, you could say that North Koreans actually have the choice to speak out against their government. Anybody that does it will end up in a labor camp and/or dead but they still had a choice.

So you’re ok with certain states making it illegal for doctors to perform abortions? As long as the doctor is willing to do the time or pay the fine it being illegal doesn’t remove their choice……

The question is not whether or not you would wear a helmet. The problem is someone else trying to force you to.

I believe most doctors already weigh the consequences of their actions.
And no, I am not okay with certain states making it illegal, but if they do; then there will certainly be doctors willing to risk the consequences....they just may have to operate from a back alley.

They do have that choice, but most understandably choose not to do it because the consequences are too severe.

So I read that your Governor has singed the bill into law. And apparently a bunch of GOP-legislature states are going to do the same thing here in short order.

I don't particularly care about drag shows, I can say I was compoletely unaware that this had become such a huge problem. I mean, states have infrastructure problems, crime problems, pension and staffing problems, homelessness, education, environmental issues. Who knew they needed to spend their time on this?

Must be a big issue as the Federal gov is spending time and resources as well as creating agencies to deal with promoting woke
Guess they get a pass from you
