So proud of my home state

I should have replied to @Franklin Pierce .... whenever a thread isn't advancing the Republican narrative effectively, he likes to change the discussion with a link to something unrelated.

That post was not completely unrelated to this thread. The thread is about him being proud of his home state for looking out for children.

There were days the government would take away children for neglect and such improper parenting. Not that I support such interference. But now the gov is the parent and allowing the drug and surgical therapy of children

That is the upside down.

If you citizens support this..then there is no compromise. NONE in any moral or gov character. Just twisted minds

It doesn’t matter if it is a peg or hole putting on the show, What kind of parent would take their child to see people dressed like that Dancing around. It is an odd world we live in.

I find it strange that people teach their kids about angels, demons, and eternal damnation.

Not gonna try and and stop them from doing it.

The "we are just looking out for children" narrative is subterfuge. The Republican objective is to legislate against lifestyles which they find unseemly. Basically, they don't want any more free gay pride public concerts in Nashville. That can't be done at the expense of the 1st Amendment, however.

Basically? I haven’t read it. Gay concerts aren’t allowed?

Are you saying this is unhealthy?

I have zero problem with my child seeing people in drag if it’s out in public. I’m 100% against the use of public school funds to bring in drag performers to educate them about the lifestyle. There’s no telling what I would do if I found out that my child’s school offered her ANY type of medical service and tried to hide it from me. I would probably make the news. I think Lee is a total clown…….but I’m totally puzzled as to why liberals are obsessed with restricting everything on this planet except abortion and gender alteration.

They want to run Nashville because it doesn’t vote (R).They also want to punish Nashville for not hosting the RNC in 2020. Bunch of angry R's mad because they lost an opportunity to bump elbows with the nominees.

I'm assuming that they tend to feature cross dressing as a part of the entertainment .... but you would probably know more about that than me.

Not really. I have one gay relative and he doesn’t cross dress or approve of children being exposed to such vulgarity. He is able to enjoy music in the same manner as me.

From what I saw it added adult cabaret to the public indecency laws, meaning you can't do it in public and you can't do it in front of children. The strip club treatment. It's whatever to me, not the worst, not the best. They can still have drag shows, just not in front of children. And they can still march. Just can't make it a show.

What I did learn is that you still can't listen to the news.

I was just messing with you ... We all should agree that this form of "entertainment" should be kept away from children, but I don't believe that is the true intent of the law - and it is a violation of the 1st Amendment. On some level, Bill Lee has to know that.

Haven’t read the law. It would seem difficult to write such a law and make it stand up.

So if we all agree this should be kept away from children, then why the law? I’m guessing everyone doesn’t believe this should be kept away from children.

I had an uncle who used to let me and my cousins drink beer when we were 14 and 15 ... No law is going to safeguard children when they have stupid parents.

You’re right it isn’t. But if this law applies to public spaces then I can see some merit to it. I can’t help every child that is subjected to poor parenting in their homes but my children shouldn’t have to be subjected to vulgarity while using public spaces.

Are you talking genital mutilation?

Raise your hand if your genitals were mutilated by a doctor when you were a baby.....with your parents' consent.

My hand is raised....I recovered and I have fully forgiven my parents.
In fact, I put my son through the same mutilation.
They cut your nuts off? Explains a lot. 🤣

Oh, i understood. The discussion was about castration not circumcision. I thought the prior was plausible.
It would certainly make my 3 kids even greater miracles.

But I thought genital mutilation on children by doctors with parental consent sort of fit into the debate.

How about the cultures that have the girl's clitoris removed?

Too far? I think so, but then again, I'm not in that culture.

Our culture seems to draw the line with cutting off a little bit of a baby boy's penis.

What would be the response to a law that criminalized circumcision?

Your comparison of removing a piece of skin to castration is really a leap I thought was too far for even you but alas. Keep using your continuum to justify your side's sick perverted behavior.

Who is justifying it? Certainly not me..........just trying to get you to broaden that incredibly narrow view many of you have regarding most everything.
