So Worley almost beats 2 ranked teams yet...

Let's be honest. Worley played one really good half of football against UGA. He looked shaky against SC and we won because Marquez North made three insane catches.

It was one insane catch and a catch that would not have been made if the ball were thrown anywhere else. Worley was also being hit by Clowney as he threw it.

He led his team to the biggest win the program has had since 2007. How many quarterbacks have started for UT since then?

I'll say this for Worley. As shaky as he looked early on, I don't think he was getting a lot of help from his receivers.

That's fine, just wondering why some people think the 4th stringer will start over Worley.

This. Butch even routinely talked about how his receivers were running routes long and short. Not to mention, he got just as many drops as Dobbs did.

But none of this matters. This board will always be madly in love with the QB that's riding the bench. I would bet that had this board been around in the mid 90s, there would be those wanting Peyton benched.

This is the way of the message board. Brandon Stewart, Jermaine Copeland, CJ Leak, Brent Schaeffer, Jonathan Crompton, BJ Coleman, Nick Stephens and Justin Worley were all potential Heisman candidates.

Somehow I keep seeing people saying they'd like to see our 4th stringer start off the season. Would someone please explain? I'm an ol country boy and am trying to honest to goodness figure it out.

Worley starting clicking and went from gosh awful to a QB that almost lead us to 2 upsets before going out with the injury. No way they lose to Vandy with him. So someone please show me the light lol

You are so correct. Just doesn't add up. The only one to challenge Worley is Ferguson.

There is no way to tell what our QB will be come next fall, spring will be wide open. But if "almost" is something you can hang your hat on then Derek Dooley would still be the coach here. And by my count worley was 1-4 against ranked teams as the starter this year so that stat nor his personal stats are exactly wowing anyone

Y'know man, sorry for lashing out at you. I asked a question I got your opinion lol.

I wouldn't say he's fourth string Peterman is based off his showing last year. Worley is 2nd string at best probably going to be 3rd.

Fergi or Dobbs, if Worley is the starter it will be a VERY VERY VERY long year, nothing against Worley just not what we need to take us where we want to go.

So Dobbs looked lost and had very few fundamentals but is more in line with where we want to go. Fantastic reasoning.

Worley was a good game manager because of his experience, but he played safe a lot. My concern is that he seemed to play scared. He is a decent qb but he has to learn to not play with fear.

I agree if any position on the team requires a cool head it's definitely the qb.

Worley did seem nervous a lot but he also seemed to be getting it together just before his injury.

Dobbs seemed to have a calmer playing style than most true freshman.

Ferguson,Page,Ashford have.yet to be battle tested in the SEC.

Peterman went into full panic mode.

However they all have potential and I'm sure CBJ will put whoever he deems the best man for the job behind the center.

Well he DID beat one ranked team. Josh Dobbs stunk it up.

And he doesn't have to run. Its is not required with this offense.

You say that a running QB is not a necessity. However, it essentially would make a 3rd of our play book useless. Plus, Alabama is the team we are trying to run down right now in the SEC. Can you tell me what the last 5 qbs that defeated Alabam had in common? I'll hang up and listen.

At least in the Spring the freshman QBs will not be freshmen anymore so it will be about as fair a competition as you can get. The best man will win out and I'll support whoever it is.

As much as Worley was starting to show vast improvements, at this point it may best to get as many reps to Dobbs and Fergy. Worley will be a senior,so??
I just hope the QB situation gets settled early in the season because, it's not only getting old, we will a very young Oline.

He still wasn't very good. He is a below average qb in the SEC.

There isn't a lot of separation with any of these quarterbacks. Worley as bad as it was at times was our best QB. We would be practicing if he hadn't got hurt.

The QB on the roster who gives us the best chance to win should start. Don't care who it is. I do want to see what Ferg can do, said it in the "who should be our QB thread". However, whoever gives us the best chance to win should be on the field.

I do hope when we have QB "Experiments", it's not against Florida or any other SEC team. And also, Hopefully CBJ knows he is allowed to put a QB in for just a drive or two...not an entire half.
I'm all for CBJ, but some of his decisions where juvenile at best, I was more confused/still am.

What he's got to do is become accurate so he can move the chains. He'd be fine if he'd just make the stick throws on those 7 yard slants, 10 yard crosses and 5 yard outs. He missed way too many.

Along with to many drops by the receivers. Worley will be fine you all just need to have something to complain about.

I agree the QB that CBJ assess to be the best should start. I trust our coaches I don't have to see a QB play, the coaches are paid for that eval. It is up to the coaches, not fans to determine who our starter should be.
