There’s also bad editing, there’s literally a seen where you can see Rey was supposed to be stabbed in the back while fighting but they edited out the knife so Rey still flinches but isn’t hit by anything. But hey Star Wars has always had a few little editing flaws here and there.

FTR Luke, Han, an Leia came out of the trash compactor with perfectly dry hair and clothes. Throw that movie on the garbage pile.

All kidding aside I’ve seen the part you are describing and it happens so fast you don’t notice it until someone points it out much later.

I’ll wait for DVD . Only Star Wars movie I’m remotely excited for is Boba Fett . Hopefully we get to see what made his the most dangerous bounty hunter

Lol hey like I said there’s always a few editing flaws in Star Wars, Obi-wans lightsaber when fighting Vader, the trash compactor as you mentioned. It kinda comes with the territory.

TLJ just wasn’t very good, imo, as a Star Wars movie or otherwise. Sure it has great parts, but it has bad parts that make the good parts a wash.

It could definitely be redeemed by IX though.

Exactly right and you just can't let those things bother you when watching a Star Wars movie but the geek squad always makes them a big deal...

Most people agree that the best SW movie is The Empire Strikes Back (I think it is) and there was a pretty obvious goof made. When Han and Leia are aboard the Millennium Falcon and scanning systems for somewhere to hide, Han finds Bespin and recalls that his friend Lando works there. They plot their course and are then immediately followed by Boba Fett. Later, after his betrayal has been revealed, Lando tells Han that he "had no choice" because Vader and his forces had arrived just before they did. That could not have been possible. Boba Fett was following them but he didn't know where they were going. There is no way Vader could have gotten there before the Falcon did... Now, does that bother me at all? Hell, no. This is Star Wars, just enjoy the ride. Only the geeks have trouble with this.

You missed my sarcasm. It was suggested in the other thread that a 7-7.5 = bad movie (which is exactly what I'd give Solo, and I liked it). I just save 9s/10s for incredible movies that don't come along very often.

Actually, there is a really good argument on a Star Wars message board that this was not a plot hole or continuity error. Lando could simply have been lying to Han, Leia and Chewbacca in the holding cell. Darth Vader and his forces, under Boba Fett's direction, could have arrived after the Falcon did and Vader could have offered a deal to Lando that went something like: bring them to the dining hall without alerting them to our presence here and I will give you (fill in the blank). Rather than admit to his betrayal, Lando lied to make it seem as though he had no other alternative. You can't assume that a character who has just betrayed a friend is telling the truth. In fact, it makes more sense that they are lying.

I think you were right the first time. If I recall, C3PO gets blasted by Stormtroopers almost minutes after they arrived.

Although Boba Fett could have Sussed out where they were headed by the direction they were going and told Vader. Remember that the Falcon couldn’t jump to light speed so wherever they were headed had to be close.

So far I've enjoyed both side stories more than the new main entries.

I saw it earlier today... 7.5/10. I thought it was good and although it bogs down a little bit , it does include a good mix of action and character exposition for Han. The guy who plays Han (Ehrenreich) doesn't look anything like Harrison Ford but he does at least do a good job of capturing Ford's cadence and mannerisms. It is a safe Ron Howard movie (for better or worse).

Also, with her dark hair, I thought Emilia Clarke (Qi'ra) looked just like Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso) from Rogue One.

Rogue One is the best movie made since the end of the original trilogy, in my opinion. I don't even think it's close.

Same here. Just got back from Solo. Pleasantly surprised. My expectations were low after TLJ, but Solo was entertaining.

My only complaint is Lando's droid. More annoying than anything.

Sadly it's only going to bring in a little over $100 million, by far the lowest opening for any of the latest SW films and about $30-$50 million under what they were wanting.

Personally I think going for a May release was a big mistake; they have way more competition with big blockbusters and I think the past 3 years had established a new SW movie as a Christmas time thing. I think it would have done better opening in December.

Agree... as mega popular as SW is I don’t think fans are wanting every 6 months just yet. Especially after the mixed reaction to TLJ.

There will be a big gap from now till episode 9 to get the base frothing again though.

Agreed. The original trilogy and the prequels released their movies 3 years apart. That was 3 movies in 6 years for both series. We have now had 4 movies released in the last 2 1/2 years. The public could be getting it's fill... and Solo wasn't getting much positive publicity before it's release due to the change of directors in the middle of production.

Hard to believe people are saying this was a good movie. This movie sucked terribly. I mean the last jedi was horrible but this movie takes the cake. Easily the worst movie to be associated with SW.

I didn't mind the droid, but Woody's pilot (the creature with all the arms) was like a bad comedian that just keeps telling jokes as his audience falls asleep.

What did you not like about it?

I thought this was the best one Disney has made. I liked Rogue One as well
