Hard to believe people are saying this was a good movie. This movie sucked terribly. I mean the last jedi was horrible but this movie takes the cake. Easily the worst movie to be associated with SW.
Sadly it's only going to bring in a little over $100 million, by far the lowest opening for any of the latest SW films and about $30-$50 million under what they were wanting.
Personally I think going for a May release was a big mistake; they have way more competition with big blockbusters and I think the past 3 years had established a new SW movie as a Christmas time thing. I think it would have done better opening in December.
Right but this December is still going to be without a SW film. They moved it up, not back.
I think for some reason they panicked because of all the turnover and negative early press about the movie, so they thought it would do better in the spring rather than Christmas. I'm not really sure why they came to this conclusion, maybe there is data that supports that they would make more money as a May release, but from the time they said it was a May release I thought it would get lost in all the other blockbusters.

Didn't like overall but parts were fun. I think they picked the wrong actor for Han. I had no issues with the plot itself, it just wasn't well done.
The Chewbacca backstory was pretty cool, though.
The cameo at the end had me rolling my eyes. I mean, really? However, for those that have watched the rebels series, it could tie in well with a Obi-Wan stand-alone.

That's what I'm hoping. If the rumored plot for the Obi-Wan movie is right (some local farmer dispute or whatever), Darth Maul could be controlling the group causing the problems and that could lead to Kenobi/Maul Round 2. That alone would be worth it considering the Ginn/Kenobi vs. Maul fight was one of the few redeeming parts of TPM.
Well it would actually be round 3 or 4 (I think they faced off at least twice in Clone Wars). Plus the Kenobi/Maul Story was wrapped up in Rebels. They would have to do some cannon gymnastics to make that work within what was already done in Rebels.
Just got out of Solo. I thought it was pretty good overall. A bit sluggish at times. Thought it was a solid backstory on Han and Chewy. Tied into the heart of his character really well. I got a good kick out of all the Easter eggs. From Chewy tearing off arms and Landos bounty hunter disguise from RotJ all the way to Han and Lando doing a reverse of their greeting in Empire. I actually thought they set up a sequel really well.
So is QiRa a force user and Maul plans on training her? Well probably never find out.... in a movie at least.
Oh and Donald Glover absolutely nailed Bill Dees cadence.
Glover did justice to Landos character, more than I even thought he would. I dont think QiRa is a force user, Maul probably just wants to keep his business dealings going smoothly and having her take over for Dryden would make the most sense imo.
On a separate note, I absolutely loved Enfys Nests theme music.
