Some excellent quotes from today's tea party in Boston

You are paying your own way. Great. You get a cookie. Now get used to paying for others in the next couple years when the bill shows up in the mail.
and that's where we differ... I have no problem helping those around me. You call it a burden for those that don't deserve. I look at it as a blessing that I'm making that much money to help those that just need a little assistance to get their lives going.

Both exist in the poor (the deserving and non-deserving). Just depends how you look at it.

no one is saying people shouldn't help but rather the gov't shouldn't take our money for the sole purpose of giving it to someone they deem worthy. You evidently trust the gov't since that money is coming to you

You can call it stuck all you want. We have different opinions.

Me personally, am better off with Obama in office. Yes, a working democrat (those do exist believe it or not) is better off. I'm not on any government program. I didn't make more than my salary. Yet, somehow, that money isn't mine.

This stuff is too good. I'm doing exactly what all Republicans clamor for, and it's still not good enough.

if you are better off with obama is office you are not in the middle class since the middle class had taxes stay the same. meaning you are taking more from the system than you are giving to it. we'd be better off if you were dead. congrats for not being on welfare. a real accomplishment to be proud of.

who are YOU helping out? you are taking more than you give.

here is the thing rookie.....YOU are not deciding who you help.....when you start making real money, you will "look at it" much differently

You know, helping people strikes a nerve with me about the direction this nation sets on debt. If people REALLY wanted to help others, then they should fix their own financial situation, become debt free, get their retirement in order, and once that's done, they can give like no one else. Just think, a world without debt, and what we as a people could do to help get others on the right path, instead of enable them to be lazy like the government.

Thank you Dave Ramsey.

Guess you haven't heard, the tax rates haven't changed yet to pay for all the goodies. They will.

Here you go...

"How big a tax increase would be needed to close the gap? Well, huge. To put things in perspective, all federal taxes (income, payroll, and excise) averaged 18.1 percent of GDP from 1970 to 2009. Under CBO's assumptions about Obama's policies, taxes in 2020 would already be slightly higher, at 19.6 percent of GDP. But on top of that, there'd need to be a further tax boost approaching a third to balance the budget, because spending is projected at 25.2 percent of GDP. Needless to say, this would be the largest tax burden in U.S. history, even including World War II."

Do you read my posts... YOUR money isn't coming to me. I don't earn more than what my salary is.. So explain to me how YOUR money is coming into my pocket?????

And I guess I trust the government more than the private sector... The private sector throughout the history of this country have screwed over the common man a lot more than the government has throughout the history of this country, IMO.

NOT true... More money is in my pay check on a twice monthly basis... I make about 45,000. Is that not middle class???

Where did I say I don't pay taxes???? I said compared to bush and obama, I now pay less. Isn't that what all republicans want, so i'm not sure why the anger towards me???

You pay less, because the rich are starting to pay more and will continue to pay more. You do realize that the majority of American's do not actually pay income tax right?? So, that extra money that is in your check is courtesy of someone who has a lot more money than you. It's essentially a tax credit from the upper class to the middle/lower class.
