Some unnoticed things from Bama win

I noticed that our linebackers have zero discipline in pass coverage. Anytime Bryce Young broke the pocket they abandoned their man and came running only for him to throw right to the guy he left. If happened three times in a row one series that costed TD. They are so bad in coverage. They also blindly take every fake and never drop to a reasonable depth in zone. Digs are free.

I can't find a replay to tell who it was but after the 2 point conversion one of our OL was letting Too Too know exactly what he thought of him.

15 seconds to win. Last season JH would have taken a kneel down and settled for OT. This season he trusts Hooker to get 30 yds and a chance to win. This coach is learning and growing and I don't blame him with Mr Hendon Cool Hooker at the helm.

I love the sentiment but I disagree here. Heupel has always been this aggressive late in halves. Last year was a very similar situation against KY to end the first half, they missed a field goal with very little time left in the half and Heup turned on the juice, we got our own field goal out of it.

- Slaughter looked better than McCullough has all season.
Agreed. I'd still like to have the depth back but Slaughter should have earned more PT.

- Jaylin Wright all 205 lbs of him dragging Bama's LBs!
At the risk of restarting the Small discussion... Wright is the better runner if he can hold onto the ball. He gets through tackles better and has better speed.

I'm glad we have both backs.
I really hope we get the kid out of Alabama

Offensive line was not just good. They were dominant. Manhandled the line of scrimmage. They deserve much more credit than they are getting.

AL rushing: 31 carries, 114 yards, 3.7 yds avg
TN rushing: 39 carries, 182 yards, 4.7 yds avg

To me, these numbers are a testament to both our lines. OL and DL are both for real.

- Uhm.😳...did anyone see Koolaid Mkinstry get tackled by Darnell Wright??
Yeah the sideline was an extra defender but he couldn't best the pursuit angle or shake him lol.

Darnell Wright played like a first rounder last night, he shut down Will Anderson for most of the game, and when they switch sides to get away from Darnell, are other Tackle's Mincey and Crawford stepped up.. I’m so proud of the Oline they all deserve the GameBall… Hyatt and Hooker played amazing but without the guys up front none of it is possible!!! It starts up front!!

1st quarter bama’s 3rd possession on there own two yard line. 3rd and 22 I think it was at the 5:11 mark. Banks blitzed up the middle and hammered B. Young making him throw it away. PROBLEM is he’s in the (end zone) and inside between the tackles. The ball doesn’t make it (out) of the end zone nor does it make it to line of scrimmage at the 2 yard line !!!!! There is a receiver trying to cross and is close but he’s over 5 yards away. Still it didn’t make it out of the end zone nor the line of scrimmage. I’m pretty sure that’s suppose to be a safety !!!!!! Am I wrong ????

Our o-line neutralized the best player in college football, and 4/5 are worthy of All-SEC selections....Omari Thomas reminds me of what I thought Tuttle was going to be, he too should be All-SEC...Beasley is better than Mitchell. This offense is capable of what the Burrow led L.S.U. team accomplished.

Thought it was funny that CBS kept spotlighting that Burrell and McCullough were out as if it was a huge loss. Two of the worst cover guys in UT’s already suspect secondary, IMO. Turns out Bama’s secondary is pretty suspect too. Guys running wide open everywhere last night.
I thought the guys on SEC Network did a good job explaining how wide open Hyatt was all game due to scheming the defense and getting him consistently matched up on safeties. Genious!

Well...Bama is gonna Bama, no matter the hole you put them in early. And with BY in at QB, the game is never really in the bag. That win took grit, determination, and making sure you had the ball last.

Hyatt was a beast all day, doing whatever he wanted. And when needed we had McCoy and Keyton to muscle their way to first downs after the catch.

Didn't occur to me at the time but we lost the turnover battle. The scoop and score timing wise could have been a back breaker. Alabama was full strength won the turnover battle and still lost the game.

I thought for this game only that Mitchell was good and Beasley really struggled. For the whole season Beasley has definitely been better.

It's really hard to believe but we took a best shot from BY (he basically pitched a perfect game with a 91 PFF grade) and we still won the game.
What were TooToo's and Will Anderson JR's grades, you ask? 46 and 57 respectively. Our LBs outplayed Bama's per PFF!

I have rewatched it a couple of times. I noticed Flowers was burnt so often I thought he was smoking weed on the sideline. Also. Number 12 on defense was everywhere. Making plays, standing out.
This is what I noticed during the game. Flowers is horrible, gets burned yeah, but refuses to lay a hit on anyone, its hard to watch.

Let's don't talk bad about any of our lads this week. Not a single one of them. They've gotten us to 6-0, accomplishing things we haven't done since 1998. Every one of them deserves praise this week.

And besides, Trevon was the #1 tackler on the team Saturday. Don't believe me? Check the stats sheet. That would be kinda hard for someone "refusing to lay a hit on anyone" to do. So you might be wrong.

Go Vols!

Because he got hit, the refs take that into account. Had he not gotten hit, the ball makes it past the line of scrimmage.
So it wasn't a "throw away"

But Yes,.it could have been called a safety.
