Something that caught my eye....

Truth.

hardly. You might be living the dream, but it's small time.

I'm not assuming anything about your intelligence. I'm just making assessments based upon the drivel you post here. You'd be far better off if people were still having to assume.

The funny thing is... I think Dooley is a long shot to be successful at UT. Regardless if he's the dud some of you wise old 20 somethings think or is the up and comer that some more qualified analysts have said, his chances aren't good. He inherited a program that declined under a previously successful coach. Recruiting had dropped off. Retention of talent was low.

He was replaced by a guy who spun the whole situation into a frenzy, ran a bunch of players off, then exited town less than 3 weeks before a critical signing date. The program was in absolute disarray.

If Dooley figures out how to pull this off, he won't be a great coach... he'll be a miracle worker.

It is still incredible to me that some of you direct your contempt at Dooley and Vol fans who won't buy into your fatalism instead of the guy who created the situation.

Bottom line, being negative is a choice. You can criticize without drawing premature conclusions or dismissing hopeful possibilities.

I'm not sure why some of you have to be gloom and doom... why not hope for the best while being prepared for the worst?

I've expressed plenty of disgust towards Fulmer.

Guessing is your hobby. My sat score and 3.6 can get me a lot of places.

1) Nobody on this board cares about your GPA or SAT score

2) Smart people don't have to resort to their GPA to tell other people that they are smart.

Spending billions to ensure that people are positive could be averted by simply hiring people who are qualified.
Nope. That's a very naive statement.

You can hire the most qualified people in the world and if there is a negative attitude within and about the company, it will fail every time. Find a successful business owner or executive and you will find a positive, can-do personality.

People who buy into and spread doom and gloom bring organizations down no matter how qualified they are... or other people within the organization who don't share their negativism are.

You should know that, Mr. Zigler.

I know you sound like someone who doesn't have alot of experience in the real world... and no, I'm not talking about a reality show on TV.

So optimism over reality is the blueprint for CEOs. You must know a lot of them.

You've also claimed that a stellar recruiting class complete with a bunch of '10 contributors would have been signed had Kiffin not done his thing, right?

Fulmer is gone... long gone. He didn't leave a great roster... OTOH, he didn't leave a team that would fill 10-15 scholarships with walk ons either... and those 6-10 guys who got NFL opportunities... they were guys Fulmer left to Kiffin.

Did Kiffin leave Dooley 6-10 guys who will be drafted next spring? Didn't think so.

You realize this is the internet, typing a paper for class and writing posts on here are two completely different things. Same with texting, totally different.

making reasoned points is always making reasoned points. I don't give a crap about its appearance, just show some capacity to reason.

Never said that, DID I? Please help yourself to READING before commenting, OK?

I didn't even use the word optimism in that post. But successful people are those who refuse to give in to the notions of hopelessness and negativity. They don't deny reality... they deal with it as opposed to just giving up.

If DD fails to win but does even a marginally good job recruiting... he'll leave the next guy a better starting point than he inherited. What is unrealistic about that?

FTR, yes, I do.

You don't know jack **** about me or my experience.

as we've discussed before; hire the right person, who is qualified and negativity takes care of itself.

In the meantime, spare me your life stories.

And that's the impression you left with? Yeah, like I said, save yourself the embarrassment and go somewhere a little closer to home.

I never said anything about the people on campus, there's a reason why they made it to college. I'm speaking about everyone else in Tennessee, pretty hicksish. You can't argue that.

yes you did. You said that ALL of them are upbeat rah rah types, which isn't true at all. You were making a really weak analogy that simply wasn't true. Do some learning before speaking, cool?

successful people are also those driven by absolute fear of failure. They don't give up either, but that's not what you were talking about. Changing the point isn't helping your argument. Motivation and success comes in many packages, period.

If DD fails to win but does even a marginally good job recruiting... he'll leave the next guy a better starting point than he inherited. What is unrealistic about that?

No, you don't. If you did, you wouldn't be making such statements.

See Bold.

how does that follow from the asinine comment you made about Tennesseans being hicks and that meaning you would be a shoo in? Remember, you said I wasn't making sense in making your looney statement? This is exactly what I'm talking about. Please consider UK as a fallback.

Obviously they do, otherwise you all wouldn't take the time to insult me.

nobody thinks it matters. How's that? You might as well have said you were going to post a random number to prove you're smarter than your commentary would lead one to believe. It would have probably been more effective because it would have shown some ingenuity.

You were insulting my intelligence, so I made a statement of people I've seen in Tennessee. Based on what I saw while in Tennessee, my intelligence is not put to shame compared to others there. I don't remember saying you didn't make sense, refresh my memory.

In your opinion I might as well do a lot of things. That's ok tho, I appreciate the thought!

Im going to have a quarter of the board on ignore by the time the season starts. These pessimistic fools want an audience. Why are you people still giving it to them? Everybody already knows their worn out arguments and their pessimistic positions so just put them on ignore. They have nothing to contribute anyway.

Who gives a rats furry rectum if people are negative or not? He knew it coming into the SEC. Quit pissing and moaning in your once a month interview to the public.

Just do your job and win. Although, with his head coaching record, I know I'm asking a lot.

Also, sounds like his reaching out to PF helped. If anyone knows about excuses, it's PF.

Some of you people need to go root for another team. You are obviously not Tennessee Fans. You can hate Fulmer all you want, but he did win us a National Championship. He also has one of the best winning percentages in the history of college football. I agree that it was probably time for him to go, but I give the man his due. Dooley has not even coached a game yet and you want to crucify him. Give the guy a chance. I didn't know about it when he was named the coach, but seeing what he has done so far I am pretty optimistic. If you miss the idiot Kiffen so much, go root for USC.
