I certainly agree that Peal has done a lot. Especially glad that he has given us something to look forward to when football has been atrocious.

There are a lot of people, who knows a lot more than me, that are confident Pearl is out after the tournament. So I'll listen to them.

You think it's wishful thinking to expect a show cause? I think you're using a strange definition of "wishful" that is unrelated to the verb "wish."

I think no matter what is predicted, wished for, or forecast on here, it won't change what the NCAA is going to do. So why waste your time on the guessing game.

I also think the Tressel situation could possibly affect what the NCAA will do to UT / Pearl. If they have no favors with Tressel, than no change. If they listen to ESPN, they'll go easier on him, hence, will have to likewise with Pearl if they want to save face.

Why would the Tressel situation be resolved before the Pearl situation?

The problem is, no one KNOWS anything except the NCAA and possibly MH and CBP.
So it's all conjecture no matter how you slice it.

is there a bright line rule that says what criteria must be met to give a show cause? or do they take all the facts into account and consider previous punishments and judge everyone on a case by case basis?

I'm going with the latter.

Well, show cause has been given in 19 of the previous 20 cases in which the charges were the same as they are against Pearl (in the other case, the person was out of NCAA athletics already). I'd say our odds are pretty poor.

did any of those 19 get docked 1.5 million and suspended 8 games before the NCAA ruled. Also, did any of those 19 come clean immediately after their lie? Are we part of the 5% or the 95%? I think there is a good chance shes different.

He's not making predictions as to what the penalties will be but how the university will handle the situation. I don't know what his connections are, but they're solid.

I thought the people saying Pearl will be gone in March were just expressing either vain hopes or sketchy rumors until LWS confirmed.

If it wasn't for pearl I probably wouldn't be watching ut basketball. He made it exciting to watch and for that im extremely thankful.
