This game is great stuff for OK and us. It's a sliver of the New World of college football and I for one are extremely excited about it !!

Welcome. Looking forward to the game.

Btw vol posters, Some of yall are salty AF.

Salty!! I'd recon so. We salt ice cream, salt our coffee, use salt instead of foot powder, pour salt on our Cheerios, buy salt in 50lb sacks, we drill out the holes in our salt shakers, always use salted butter, use salt for kitty litter so ya dad burned right, we're a tad bit of a salty bunch.

At least in the "before times" I used to cheer for the Sooners. Lord knows I could never pull for the shorthorns so you guys got the nod by default

Worked out well for decades. We seldom played so it was generally a safe choice.

All that ended when the clock hit :00 in the NC game in January. (The traffic ticket I was issued in Oklahoma a while back certainly has not improved my disposition either)

You guys will get all heuped up (pun intended) for the Tennessee game sure. Guess what, you gotta get right back up the next week and the week after, etc because those teams can also hurt you.

No more really only having to worry about one game a year being difficult.

Welcome to the terror dome gentlemen.

Facts are facts. Don't act longhorn-ish. The data is the data. If you want it changed, beat us on the field. I can live with that, though I won't like it.
But why did you feel the need to come on here and make that list? Intent matters and it looks to me that your intent was to use your first post here to be a giant douche and ruffle feathers. Well, mission accomplished I guess but don't expect a welcoming response if this is the attitude you wish to project. We already have one crimson colored douchebag fanbase in this conference! We sure as hell don't need another! Be better than that!

You don't like the past, change the future. You're claiming fame from the shirt tails of the SEC while having very little to show for it. It's great to be in the greatest conference, it's better to have multiple accomplishments while a part of it. Alabama cannot win for you.

Freak, this guy deserves a vacation,

The Sooners did ok with Lincoln Riley, but most of their glory days came under Stoops, Switzer, and Wilkinson. That was a bygone era and there is nothing like that existing in college football today.

The game this year is going to be tough--first true road game for Nico, frenzied crowd, lots of national exposure. However this one turns out, the Sooners are going to live a whole new experience being in the big boy league.

Lulz I knew this would happen going forward with Heup building a juggernaut all others will only have the past to cling onto. It must really suck to see Heup lock up top QB after top QB and knowing you guys told him to kick rocks. Aw man, I can see you guys reaction now to the boat race. I can’t wait

Had a hella time in Knoxville a couple of years ago. Got to see the stadium - awesome. As our initial SEC contest nears, just want to put the two teams in perspective.

UT OU
NC's (Claimed) 6 7
Conf. Championships 16 50
Head-to-head (W/L) 1 3
Heisman trophy 0 7
N/C games since 2000 2 4
Consensus AA Players 41 82

See ya' in Norman, guys.

Thanks for posting, a few counter responses:

Cool Mascot: Smokey > Wagon

Checkerboard Stadium: Check for Tennessee

Over 100k stadium: Check for Tennessee

Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Taylor Swift: Check for Tennessee (basically all of the top recording musicians). On the music front, even your little brother (Oklahoma State) has better with Garth Brooks.

Peyton Manning and Reggie White: Check for Tennessee (even little brother has more famous NFL player with Berry Sanders. Anyone at OU anywhere close to these 3?)

Most Visited National Park in the Nation 30 mins away: Check for Tennessee

Good luck.

You left out SEC Titles. They’re going to be stuck on 0 for a long time.

I think OU and Texas will both eventual get one. They are too solid of programs. Now it maybe a while for the other expansion candidates: Arkansas, South Carolina, Missouri, and Texas A&M.

In fact, I have more confidence in Oklahoma being successful long-term than Texas. Texas just screams Texas A&M 2.0. A team with top classes and money but underachieves.

We’ll see. I think aTm finally has a coach that can get them into the next level of the SEC. I’m not sold on Venables yet, even if the OU admin is. I think he gets 2 years to prove himself even though he got that extension. I would put Sark and Elko ahead of Venables right now. Maybe that will change, but I think OU has a bigger hill to climb at the moment than Texas.

Venables went from 7-6 to 10-2. That was a big jump. I know we look down on Big12 (especially after OU and Texas) but that was a big jump. OU is also recruiting very well under Venables. I think they have a worse record this year but Venables has looked solid so far with them. I do think Lincoln Riley would crash and burn had he stayed and that might have been why he bolted for USC (although he looks like he may crash and burn there as well).

He was good but granted, he had steroid use. I would put Peyton Manning, Reggie White, and Berry Sanders over him as more well-known and impactful but he definitely has an argument.

Adrian Peterson is another OU alum that was really good.

I was trying to be funny with that post but my sarcasm didn't come through, lol.

The pic does remind me of how badass neck rolls looked on players back then! I also kind of miss that era when linebackers looked like jacked up, 250lb action figures (pharmaceutically enhanced of course).

What's your unbiased opinion on how your O-line will do. I've been reading y'all have 4 brand new starters there.

This league starts at the LOS

😂 You know I cannot stand a passive aggressive pus. At least now we’re getting down to the true you. Welcome to the board. Hope you stay after we beat that A.
