SOTU Address

Tweedle Dipshit (Volstrom).

That's the higher end. Most entry level jobs are sitting at 15-20/hr. Even with roommates, that's hardly enough to live sans parents without busting hella overtime.

I really don't think the natural order ever intended a McDonalds worker to bang the same buck as a neuro surgeon that spent 10 years in school, plus countless years doing internships and fellowships. I do beleive you can make living wages in careers that don't require a university degree, but not just a HS diploma totin' neo-woke runt. Trades can provide a very good living, but still require something other than posting on the job Tik Toks.

Yes she acted a fool, embarrassed herself and her constituents.

So. I'm mixed on MTG and a couple of others...because a couple of these folks will straight go to battle for you and with you to fight American Marxism. Just don't turn into a petulant child like Trump or start to pivot on maturity.

I will still say 100 times out of 100 times Gaetz, Boebart, MTG are all a lot smarter than many of the low IQ democrats who were elected due to activism.

I don't think any of them would really go to battle for or with me on anything. They like the media attention and whatever they are grifting, they don't really want the boat rocked.

Agree, and he continued to live it every day after. Only Ex Prez to spend so much time acutally putting in the work with Habitat with his own hands rather than just talking up things. The lousy prez thing is warranted, but he also became prez at the convergence of the perfect storm. Not sure who could have pulled that term off. He would have been viewed in a toally different light had he handled the hostage situation competently.
Even if the hostage crisis had been handled better, the economic situation would still hang over his head. Carter was the last of the “big government” Presidents (which came from both parties and included Nixon and Ford) before Morning in America started with the inauguration of Ronald Wilson Regan. Government was no longer seen as the all competent solver of all problems thankfully

Carter was the last big government president? How the hell do you figure that? Every one of his successors has expanded the federal government, some more than others but all of them have.

That economic situation had been brewing for a minute and came to a head in the late 70's. Was Carter strong enough to perform better, or at all, on the economic front of his term. Obviously not. I'm not sure anyone would have been a clear success those 4 years, and Reagan did throw in some pretty effective recovery policies. But, by '80 it was already tempering a bit to where he could look the hero with a few good policies. The nail in Carter's coffin was the immediate release of the hostages when Reagan was elected, making Carter look more the fool.

Carter, though a good Southern Baptist and someone who lived a good life hands on, did yield to some liberalism like abortion views. But, what we thought was liberal then is quite conservative by today's comparison's.

At the moment NO ONE will be a success in a position of power in the US. Foreign entities own our social and our media. Got bless them.

About the only thing I’ve seen that I agree with. Politics are such a farce at this point. Most dems and republicans have no business being in office. Would any of you vote for most of these people to run a business for you much less be in charge of our country? The sad thing is both sides are voting on the lesser of two evils every time they vote. Why can’t we do better at this point?

Watch Idiocracy. It’s a little corny but will clue you in as to the direction we’re headed

There used to be a whole thread that was nothing but angst about athletes not saluting flags and partaking in rituals.

Totally the same.

Joe Schmo on a chat board and the federal government.

We should all worship at the feet of politicians and government and condemn some dude on a chat forum upset that an entitled millionaire athlete kneeled during the national anthem.

An athlete or anyone has the right to kneel during the national anthem and Joe Schmo has the right to be outspoken about it. The government and politicians don’t have the right to censor speech or force beliefs on citizens.

Joe Biden couldn't lead a functioning head cook team at McDonald's during the day shift.

He has also gone pretty anti Israel as he has aged too which is a very non Baptist point of view. I have really been shocked by the extent to which he has cozied up to the Palestinian propaganda

I should have said the last President who didn’t pretend to not be big government. Every President since then had at least paid lip service to controlling spending. Reagan presented a paradigm shift.

If i remember correctly, the president of the United States at the time called for the firing of players who refused to salute a flag or partake in certain rituals.
