Sour Grapes from Oregon

Whoa read some of that banter over there...I think I lost some brain cells.

However, dickens you might just be my hero after all that

1- Our stadium IS loudest
2- Our fans are drunkards, and I'm ashamed of that.
3- 50% against USC in last 2 years.:p

How bout you guys go win a bowl game like last year... oh wait, you didn't even make a bowl game. Wait wait, let me guess why, because the SEC is the hardest conference in the world, and pac-10 sucks.

Well Pac-10 vs SEC in last 10 years = 9-6 in pac-10 favor. Last year in bowl games Pac-10 = 5-0

It'd be great if 4 of those wins weren't captured by USC. Chalk up one more against a team so bad it got it's coach fired. You've also got a win against a 3-win Bama team in there. And to top off the list we have your might Ducks defeating a 2-win Mississippi State team. The only halfway decent victory in there that wasn't pulled off by the Trojans was Cal beating UT in 2007.

If you look at overall history, the SEC leads the all time head to head. The SEC has also appeared in about twice as many bowls as the Pac-10, we've won 4 less bowl games than the Pac-10 has even attended.

lol. You need to do some homework there.

You may not like the results of Sagarin's work. But, there is no way for him to be biased since he does not make any team judgements. His ratings are completely based off of computer models and then averaged with some of the other widely used polls. Classic example of SEC mythology being perpetuated here: "the computers are biased against us and we think it's crap!" :)

You may think that the ACC was the worst conference in your grand SEC delusion. But, looking at the over-all records in that conference, they did pretty well if averaged as a group. Northwestern and Navy, while not stellar, weren't slouches either.

The ACC was terrible. Several SEC, Pac-10, and Big 12 schools played much more challenging schedules than Duke. I need no homework to see that.

i can't believe i just read 24 pages of this. i actually feel bad my username now. for those of you new to the board....hi, i'm duckman.....and i'm a vol fan.

So, what was the loudest recorded decibel level for Neyland? Haven't seen it yet. I'd also like everyone to know that I have the fastest time ever recorded for the 62.347 meter dash.

Wow. I'm surprised you read that much. I don't think I could take looking through that much of their dribble

I'm not making any predictions. We'll just have to see. :)

Wheaton,

You may have missed this in the Bryce Brown thread so I wanted to post it here:

1) I hope that you will hang around. I also hope that you plan on visiting us in Knoxville when y'all come. :hi:

2) What are your thoughts on the PAC 10 hanging all of their hats on the laurels of 1 team, USC with 1 BCS championship; while 3 different SEC teams (UT, FL, and LSU) have accounted for 5 BCS championships.

PS: The next closest conference is the Big 12 with 2 different teams and 2 BSC Championships.

3. They haven't won anything as in not won any games? What was Cal's record last season? What was Oregon's? Was Cal ranked?

4. Simple ignorance. Unless you have your own personal definition of "won anything" in which case you're just equivocating.

5. I'll mark your word... on a bathroom stall in Corvallis. A couple "major players" you forgot about: Blount, Ward, Thurmond, Tukuafu, Paysinger, Dickson amongst others.

6. I've been to a number of stadiums and Cal was the quietest I've ever been to. The visiting Oregon section was louder than the rest of the entire stadium of Cal fans (and we weren't sitting in the Oregon section). It's like a big, pleasant picnic with some game going on in the background. You have no room to enter a discussion about fan loudness without also incurring embarrassment. Of course, embarrassment is clearly not a concern of yours, given your open display of the fruitiest looking mascot in history.

3. Tedford is 4-2 against Oregon and has a higher winning % in his time at cal than oregon has in the same time period despite the fact he inherited a 1-10 team and your new OC inherited a top-5 team. before tedford you went to one rose bowl in a time when the pac-10 was complete garbage. after him you have a couple of holiday bowl visits.

4. you had the second worst record in pac-10 history before phil gave his money. brooks didn't win crap until phil gave his money. oh and you drew 10K a game before you started winning. don't you know your own history? probably not. i'm sure you became a fan in 1999. even a garbage program like cal still has a 57% all time winning % against the ducks.

5. garbage. garbage. garbage. garbage. the players you just listed aren't fit for a .500 team. name one that has accomplished anything

6. Yeah cal's stadium was so quiet that dixon near crapped his pants during the arse kicking in 06 when you were ranked in the top-10.

Apparently, you do: The Wiz of Odds: Best BCS Conference? How About the ACC?

1) Thank you. I would love to go to Knoxville and will if I can. Just a big trip from out here for someone with two small kids.

2) I don't think of that at all because the Pac-10 doesn't hang all of their hats on the laurels of one team. That is simply a fall-back argument that some fans have resorted to when efforts to win some other argument doesn't go their way. :)

Tennessee obviously has the most ignorant/stubborn fans I've seen so far.

Let's see if that talk translates to the field this year and next year against Oregon, ok?

You must not have ventured over to the site dickens linked. Now, will you please show me the loudest recorded decibel level at Neyland Stadium?

I also hope you realize that one of the fans tearing you and your buddy a new one is a Cal fan.

Now, go to a church and pray that you win the next 14 matchups against Stanford so that you can have a winning record against the tree. Then, you may return in the 2030's and talk smack about our 2005 loss to Vanderbilt.

Tennessee fans know more about college football than your little ducky head could ever comprehend. And then some.

The only thing that I can remember Tennesse about over the last 10 years is losing in the fiesta bowl.

BCS bowls wins in last 10 years.

Oregon- 1
Tennessee- 0(loss in 99/00 season in fiesta bowl).

And I remember Tennessee going 5-7 last year while Oregon went 10-3.

And I remember you guys losing to a UCLA team which was on the bottom half of the pac-10. HAHAHA

I remember this about the past decade: Tennessee had 4 10+ win seasons. Oregon has had 4 in their entire history.

You guys brag about your stadium being #1, your recruiting being the best, and Tennessee being the best, yet you don't have much to back it up with in the last 10 years.

Besides the loss in the fiesta bowl

And thus, we fired our coach.

I wonder if Belotti has told Chip Kelly to use a better recruiting pitch than "We are Oregon, Nike Nike Nike Nike, you will play for us."

So you rather have a 10 win season the a BCS game victory?

No, see. You may notice our past 10 years have led to the firing of our coach. You call yours the best in your history... yet the two teams have eerily similar records over the past 10 years (with TN holding the edge).
