1- Our stadium IS loudest
2- Our fans are drunkards, and I'm ashamed of that.
3- 50% against USC in last 2 years.
How bout you guys go win a bowl game like last year... oh wait, you didn't even make a bowl game. Wait wait, let me guess why, because the SEC is the hardest conference in the world, and pac-10 sucks.
Well Pac-10 vs SEC in last 10 years = 9-6 in pac-10 favor. Last year in bowl games Pac-10 = 5-0
lol. You need to do some homework there.
You may not like the results of Sagarin's work. But, there is no way for him to be biased since he does not make any team judgements. His ratings are completely based off of computer models and then averaged with some of the other widely used polls. Classic example of SEC mythology being perpetuated here: "the computers are biased against us and we think it's crap!"
You may think that the ACC was the worst conference in your grand SEC delusion. But, looking at the over-all records in that conference, they did pretty well if averaged as a group. Northwestern and Navy, while not stellar, weren't slouches either.
I'm not making any predictions. We'll just have to see.
3. They haven't won anything as in not won any games? What was Cal's record last season? What was Oregon's? Was Cal ranked?
4. Simple ignorance. Unless you have your own personal definition of "won anything" in which case you're just equivocating.
5. I'll mark your word... on a bathroom stall in Corvallis. A couple "major players" you forgot about: Blount, Ward, Thurmond, Tukuafu, Paysinger, Dickson amongst others.
6. I've been to a number of stadiums and Cal was the quietest I've ever been to. The visiting Oregon section was louder than the rest of the entire stadium of Cal fans (and we weren't sitting in the Oregon section). It's like a big, pleasant picnic with some game going on in the background. You have no room to enter a discussion about fan loudness without also incurring embarrassment. Of course, embarrassment is clearly not a concern of yours, given your open display of the fruitiest looking mascot in history.
The ACC was terrible. Several SEC, Pac-10, and Big 12 schools played much more challenging schedules than Duke. I need no homework to see that.
Wheaton,
You may have missed this in the Bryce Brown thread so I wanted to post it here:
1) I hope that you will hang around. I also hope that you plan on visiting us in Knoxville when y'all come. :hi:
2) What are your thoughts on the PAC 10 hanging all of their hats on the laurels of 1 team, USC with 1 BCS championship; while 3 different SEC teams (UT, FL, and LSU) have accounted for 5 BCS championships.
PS: The next closest conference is the Big 12 with 2 different teams and 2 BSC Championships.
Apparently, you do: The Wiz of Odds: Best BCS Conference? How About the ACC?
Tennessee obviously has the most ignorant/stubborn fans I've seen so far.
Let's see if that talk translates to the field this year and next year against Oregon, ok?
The only thing that I can remember Tennesse about over the last 10 years is losing in the fiesta bowl.
BCS bowls wins in last 10 years.
Oregon- 1
Tennessee- 0(loss in 99/00 season in fiesta bowl).
And I remember Tennessee going 5-7 last year while Oregon went 10-3.
And I remember you guys losing to a UCLA team which was on the bottom half of the pac-10. HAHAHA
