Sour Grapes from Oregon

Keyword: Since BCS era.

I can't take BCS seriously, sorry.

Pac-10 has been robbed numerous times out of either a BCS game or a BCS title game.

Then why in the WORLD would you tout the fact that Oregon has been to a BCS game? It's true. Ducks do have little bitty brains.

Pot, meet kettle.

At least the Vols will pull themselves out of it.

UofO will never, ever be able to pull enough recruits out of southern California to take over USC's spot in the Pac-10.

You guys had much better recruits on your team last year and we still went 10-3 while you guys went 5-7.

weird

Against BCS opponents, yes. That's exactly what the stats show.

I don't think they had the top teams. But, when averaged as a conference, they were a tougher conference than you are giving them credit for. Probably because they scheduled more OOC BCS opponents compared to the flurry of I-AA teams the SEC is known to count as wins.

Duke didn't play a top 10 schedule. You're never convincing me of that.

Damn. Well we'll never do anything this year as nothing has changed from last season to this season. Oh wait...

I can't brag about a season in which we went 12-1 and obviously deserved a shot at the NC but instead Nebraska(who got the behinds handed to them by Colorado, who Oregon killed in fiesta) got killed in NC?

If you have done that lately, I'd love to hear

Guys... Debating how good the Pac-10 is is one thing. I live in Portland. I love watching Pac-10 ball.

But the SEC is, has been and will continue to be head and shoulders better than every other conference in college football. And that much is fairly close to non-debatable.

Are you really trying to use the transitive property in relation to football?

Too bad, I would have loved to have seen the Ducks sacrificed to the Canes. And yeah, that loss to a 5-6 Oregon State team just screams NC worthiness.

The evidence is there that the Pac-10 is better.

Take out the BCS and the SEC will lose all the hype.

UCLA beat Tennessee last year, thats' all I have to say

I remember LSU vs Wazzu...

Worst team in pac-10 vs best team in SEC.
I remember OSU playing @ LSU and losing by 1 in 2ot

I love it when a Pac-10 game plays the game of their lives and an SEC team essentially takes a dump on the field and still manages to win.

I'll also point out that only 2 of your non-USC victories came against teams that didn't have awful records. One of those was a 3 point victory against a crappy 7-5 Bama team. Cal deserves credit for their win over Tennessee in 2007. None of the other teams were any good.

It takes an average game from UCLA(1 of worst teams in pac-10) to beat you.

Yeah, we sucked last year. The SEC was an incredibly strong conference. The Pac-10, not so much.

UofO football's history is simply this: A smattering of NFL-caliber talent shining amongst a core of typically mediocre players (lately whom can't even be pulled from in-state thanks to Belotti), and very occasionally have good seasons. Not NC good, but rather tie for the Pac-10 title good.

Unless the unlikely event occurs that UofO does establish some sort of unprecedented pipeline into SoCal for recruits, this will continue to be the case.

And? UT was crap last year. Congratulations. How good was Cal when UT beat the fool out of them? Seems to me like they won the Pac-10 that year.

Besides, we got rid of the offensive coordinator that didn't want to run the ball despite our 99 ypc and instead decided to put the ball in the hands of sub-50% Cro-Magnon.

If Tennessee is mediocre, yet has a better record in a harder conference than the Duckies... what does that say about Oregon?

Last 10 years:

Win/Loss record:

Oregon 86-38
UT 85-41

Strength of Schedule: I already demonstrated earlier in this thread that they have been comparable over the last 10 years.

Your argument: no factual basis.

Wwow, I didn't even know that.

Nice check-up wheat. Impressive

But I expect their response to be.
"Pac-1 sucks" "SEC OWNS" etc....

Let duckyness note that in the most successful 10 years of Oregon and the least successful 10 years of Tennessee that Oregon has produced one more victory. Fan-freaking-tastic.

Oh, forgive me. You have one more win than Tennessee... While Tennessee has had two of its worst seasons in school history... and they still have 85 wins this decade.... 85 wins in a decade earns Oregon coaches praise. It earns Tennessee coaches a lack of job.

.....
2) I don't think of that at all because the Pac-10 doesn't hang all of their hats on the laurels of one team. That is simply a fall-back argument that some fans have resorted to when efforts to win some other argument doesn't go their way. :)

That is a good answer. So what do you think about the fact that the PAC 10 has 1 team (USC) with 1 BCS championship and the SEC has 3 teams (UT, FL, and LSU) combining for 5 BCS championships. :)
