Spectrum vs. Disney -- A Development Tracking Thread

Signed up for Youtube TV today, got it setup on my Samsung Smart TV without any problems, logged out Spectrum provider out of the ESPN app on my Samsung Smart TV and signed back in with Youtube TV without any problems. I am back in business. I called these folks at Spectrum and was routed to the cancellation team to cancel my Spectrum Streaming TV service here in FL. After waiting for 15 minutes, a recording came on stating that they are unable to accept my phone call at this time and to try again another day. LOL . I also got a text message from Spectrum stating they are sorry about not being able to take my phone call. I will try again later until I am able to tell them to disconnect my streaming TV service.

For me it was a toss up between Youtube TV or Hulu Live TV because of the ESPN+ they give you with Hulu. After much thought, I really only wanted ESPN+ for UFC sometimes. With other ways to watch UFC, I chose Youtube TV. I am happy with my decision.

I am about another 30 days out on signing up with the new internet provider here in town. They are still building out the fiber network in my neighborhood. Once that is complete, I will be moving away from Spectrum completely.

SEC fans celebrate

ESPN raises prices and people are pissed.

How the hell did people think this was going to
work?
From the article, is this even accurate?

The 2023 season will be the final one with the SEC Game of the Week being televised on CBS by Gary Danielson and Brad Nessler.

I don't believe their is a FUBO provider login on the ESPN App. be careful
According to the Fubo help center you can log into the espn app with your Fubo credentials. I don’t have Fubo though so can’t say for sure, but it’s on their site that you can.

Was going to sign up for FuboTV but my mom lives with us and she likes to watch CNN which isn't available on FuboTV. I tried to tell her she could watch Fox News but she wasn't having it. Lol.

I guess I'm signing up for YouTubeTV unless someone has a better idea.

Actually, she watches MSNBC which is available on FuboTV.

MSNBC? She really needs to go.

Spectrum blames Disney but they sure aren't offering your money back for all those channels being out. You have to call, and you can't get through

‘We’re at a tipping point’: Disney vs. Charter standoff could have seismic implications for entire cable TV model
“We’ll know more after Monday,” said Mao, the senior vice president of global media rights consulting for Octagon. “You have two very important players having this standoff. However it gets resolved, it will have ripple effects across the sector.”
Over the past few years, as TV networks have raced to populate their streaming services with live sports, some viewers have grown increasingly frustrated with the fragmented landscape. For example, to watch every Yankees game this season, fans needed access to YES, TBS, ESPN, Apple TV, Prime and Peacock.

Those complaints are likely to grow louder if Disney and Charter can’t strike a deal and the disintegration of the cable business model accelerates. Viewers may no longer have to pay for channels they don’t watch, but they’ll encounter new challenges finding the games they want to see.
