Spurrier to Miami speculation . . .

First, Spurrier won the SEC in 90, 91, 93, 94, 95, 96, and 00. The probabation year in 1990 didn't count as a title, which still leaves six.

Spurrier had trouble with FSU because FSU was awesome. But he still held his own and won his fair share. Remember, he beat the crap out of them to win the NC in 96 -- hung 52 pts on them.

Also, I don't necessarily use NCs to define anyone. This whole poll voting thing makes them fictional. BAMA counts every NC from anyone that felt compelled to publish a poll -- which is how they claim 12 NCs.

CPF has won 2 SECs in 14 seasons. With the players he's had, that's paltry.

don't disagree Spurrier has won six titles but the inference was to the 90s...you wrote "perhaps the greatest coach in the SEC since Bear Bryant in the 90s, winning six titles..." yep Florida claims a SEC title in 90 one shared with the Vols...Vols beat Florida 45-3 in 90. Since the SEC does not allow a team on probation to claim the title it is mute. But I don't have a problem with Florida claiming one in 90.

Spurrier is 5-8-1 against Bowden. Let's not forget that Florida lost that Nov to FSU before winning the Sugar Bowl rematch to claim the NC...something that would not happen now because of the BCS. Apply the same standards to all...try this

Fulmer had trouble with Florida because Florida was awesome. But remember since 98 he is 4-4 in head to head with Spurrier and won a NC..

Let me say this again before the Fulmerite label is thrown my way. I think CPF is a good coach...I think Spurrier is a better coach. Better than Phil but still he's just a good coach. And staying with the theme of this thread " Spurrier for Head Coach!" I would NOT want him as Vols HC.

Wake up.....why would Coach Spurrier ever want to take a job lower than the job he has now....he is at SC not Vanderbilt...geeez.

Hey Gamecock, remind me who has the better football program here, Tennessee or South Carolina? Also, remind the the record of the teams the past 20 years or so? Third remind me the number of conference and national championships you guys have? Fourth, remind me who has the better facilites?

Please don't ever try to compare our program to yours!

Are you crazy....i hope you're kidding...spurrier has beat ut like a red headed step child everywhere he's been why would he go there...you need to learn the game of football and then you can talk

What happened the last time the "red headed step children" came to the Swamp to play Spurrier?

I swear . . . this has turned into the remedial smack talk thread.

Spurrier's dominance over CPF in the 90s was supreme. I mean, from 1993-1997 they beat the dog crap out of us. The talent was pretty even most of the time.

1998 they beat us up and down the field but we won

1999 We lost to an inferior team and were outcoached to the point every other TV commentator thought Fulmer should have apologized to his team for losing the game for them.

Spurrier always played FSU tough. And he got after them a couple of times. I would not say that FSU had ownership over him. They just won one or two more in some close games.

CPF's teams collapsed.

Good point...why would Coach Spurrier work for someone he owns.....fear the spur...fear SC....fear the future.

It was fun to watch us beat up on your sister school MTSU today.....they reminded me of UT in some ways.....except they have an excellent recruiter in Rick Stockstill.....Outstanding.

If you are bragging about beating MTSU, your program must be incredibly sorry. Good luck with Clemson.

And Gamecock fans wonder why their fans have a reputation for being delusional. And their favorite line: "in two years [insert fantasy title here] . . . "

Is today April 1st?

his leaving USC would lead me to believe that even he does not believe he could win consistently at USC....
