This thread blows. The article is pure speculation. UM would like to approach Spurrier about being the head coach. Big deal. I'm sure they'd like to interview Saban, Jimmy Johnson, and Vince Lombardi if they could.

When Spurrier left Florida to coach the NFL's Washington Redskins in 2002, he said he desired to coach somewhere that expectations weren't so immense on a yearly basis. But a move to Miami would certainly bring added expectation. Coker is under intense pressure and scrutiny despite compiling a 53-9 record prior to this season.

I can't imagine Spurrier not taking it, if its offered.

He's got a much easier recruiting base, easier conference & schedule, plus he stay in Florida that he loves. He knows as well as anyone how tough it is to win in the SEC.

I would be more surprised if its offered and he doesnt take it. Especially as fickle as fans are today. Its what have you done for me lately.

Read the article....geez....for those of you that didnt read the thing....hes says if they call....hes not answering the phone....hes not interested. I understand your pain.....but deal with it....SC and Spurrier will be around for a while and youre gonna lose a few times to them.

Love the Gamecock optimism. I don't see Spurrier in Columbia after four to five years from today. He just doesn't have it in him to stay longer then that.

Coach has been here 2 years now....he has only had one recruiting year....He beat you last year with less overall talent and could have beat you this year. Oh its coming all right, and there is nothing you can do about it but dream that he leaves this school and the SEC. Only then will your nightmares go away. Wake up. He`s not going anywhere.

Why would Spurrier go to Miami when he could live in Columbia, SC?

Great point. Your 6-6 record this year is a real scare. Particularly when you lose your entire offense this year (his name is Svelle).

BTW, doesn't Clemson have a board on which you can troll around? Or are you tired of being their whipping boy, as well?
