I would love this. But I took a look over at cockytalk to see what they're saying. Besides their usual completely blind optimism ("we're going to be a powerhouse next year") one of their fans made a good point (in between throwing trash on the field, applauding moral victories, and leaving a close game in the third quarter at home).
The U would have to buy out Coker's contract and Spurrier's contract, which is apparently in the 2nd year of a 9 year deal. Thats a lot of money to spend. Other then that, I can totally see it. He's had lots of success in the state, lots of connections there, Miami can definately out-recruit usc, the acc is much easier sledding especially with the rome-esque fall of fsu.
But the main reason I see...he's getting old. It could take him years trying to turn around usc and not get anywhere, while Miami could be great again in a year or two. No need to waste his coaching twilight at usc like holtz did. He thought he could turn that program around but now he's realized what all of us knew...its a coaching graveyard.
