Staley Seeking Waiver For T'ea Cooper

She may have said that...But the general feelings of the consensus was, She Knew!

She also knew when to let it be known "she knew"... This is what made Pat a winner.
She knew.

Really? So why didn't she fix it? That team was the first to not make it beyond 1st round of NCAA and first not to make it to at least one final four during their four years. Curious. ?

Sorry, but I won't get into a heated discussion about the coach who inspired me to work exclusively with girls basketball. She is, was and always will be the best Women's basketball coach of all time.

Respect, Chatt.

I think I will take her word for it when she said "I don't know". She wasn't one to say what she didn't mean.

At that time Pat also was affected by a disease that affects judgement while it destroys the brain. Pat did lots of things in those last few years that weren't typical "Pat."

Just MO.

Can you give an example of what she did that was out the norm?

I mean, Pat herself said that she was constantly second guessing herself and questioning her decision making on the court. Are you suggesting her illness had no bearing on the team's performance?

Pat did little and finally no in game coaching in her last 2 seasons.

How can you possibly get that I’m suggesting her illness had no bearing on team performance from my question????

She didn't during the time period I'm talking about.

Agreed. But please respect our current coach and stop piling on with "general feelings" and Pat passes. I expect better from you.

She won back 2 back natty the year before. She was still Pat in 2008/09 which is when we are talking about.

All due respect - I could not love a coach more than I love Pat Summitt. But some folks are using Pat as a measuring stick for Holly but removing any trace of Pat's faults or shortcomings or humanity first.

I don't like USC either but anybody that beats UConn anytime is okay in my book. :good!:

84 - 82 USC

The difference is that she has a National Championship. Percentage wise Holly has the higher winning percentage but Dawn would rank a little higher because of that title.

Get serious. Dawn's win percentage isn't as good because she took over two dumpster programs with little to no tradition and built them from scratch into powers. Holly was handed the keys to the most storied program in women's basketball history.

Throw in Dawn's Final Fours and National Championship and it's clear she's a vastly superior coach.

Hugh Freeze took over the Ole Miss football program that was a dumpster and took them to 10 win seasons, but that program eventually imploded.

The same can happen to Usc-JR.

And the same could happen to Tennessee, what's your point? I'm interested in facts, not hypotheticals. The facts say Staley is clearly a much better coach...
