I'm surprised Stanford has now run a trick play in each overtime period, when they have Luck at QB.

Yeah. But I think just mainly some rule in the books about the last plays in games like this (or that Texas Nebraska big 12 game, etc) being automatically reviewed, instead of there having to be some fuss or controversial gray area, etc
