Star Wars: Episode VII (December 18, 2015) ***SPOILERS***

Exactly. There's no way the movie won't have somebdy holding a red lightsaber.

I want to see the return of the purple lightsaber wielding Mace Windu. Which is one of the many reasons I was hoping they would back in time rather than forward.

The reason I don't like the idea of the Sith is that it ruins the point of the first six movies. I mean it is Star Wars after all, not Force Wars. There's a gajillion things they could do that don't involve Sith versus Jedi yet again.

Anyways, supposedly the working title is "The Ancient Fear". No word if that will end up being the final title.

Interesting!

‘At Least Three’ Non-Saga Star Wars Films Also in the Works

‘At Least Three’ Non-Saga Star Wars Films Also in the Works

Although it's certainly no surprise given the immense popularity of the franchise, The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger confirmed today during a Q2 Fiscal 2014 Earnings Conference Call that "at least three" Star Wars films are in development beyond the new trilogy of "Saga" chapters. Up until now, only two of these standalone projects were confirmed.

Referred to in the past as "origin story film", these features are said to be targeting release dates that alternate with the Saga entries, suggesting that these three (presumably the first of many more) will arrive in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Although previous rumors have suggested that these adventures will follow Han Solo, Boba Fett and/or Yoda, nothing specific has as of yet been confirmed outside of Larry Kasdan and Simon Kinberg's involvement on the screenplay side.

Not really Episode 7 related but I thought this was pretty cool...

I do think people are too quick to say that casting "known" actors was a bad thing in the prequels. For one, the main cast really not household names. Even Liam Neeson at the time. They were actually good actors, for the most part. The true problem was with the script and direction.

Fun fact: the original Star Wars actually did have a porn star in it, altho her scene was sadly cut. She was the girlfriend of Fixer, Luke's rival on Tatooine.

Not a fan of bringing in has-beens and never-beens. I'd rather bring guys that are at the top of their game now. I think Fassbender would've been a good jedi.

This movie is already going to have an astronomical budget as it is but bringing top stars would push it even more and hurt future sequels or stand alone film cameos.

I remember reading the book a long time and wondering why some of it wasn't in the movie. I think her name was Cami. Too bad. "Cami Does Mos Eisley" would have been worth watching.

You mean like Liam Neeson, Ewin McGregor, Natalie Portman and Sam Jackson?

Neeson was well-known before Star Wars, he was the lead in Schindler's List and Michael Collins. McGregor was well-known in the UK at least ever since his lead in Trainspotting. Sam L Jackson, the guy was a household name since Pulp Fiction. Portman is the only one that is legit name on your list.

I so want these movies to be good, but I just don't believe they will be.

Fwiw, I really hope I'm wrong.

My point was the prequels had heavy weights and they sucked.

Meanwhile original had mostly unknowns amd they rock.

Yeah, but the prequels sucked due to poor writing, not poor acting.

Well, with the exception of Hayden Christensen. I wasn't a fan of his acting. Everyone else did the best they could with poorly written scripts.

Agreed.

I don't have a problem with unknowns though. The originals were mainly unknowns and they are still great.

Although if we could get Natalie Portman in for a nude cameo that would be good.

God no, please. I guess I'm the only one, but she just annoys the hell out of me and I don't find her attractive in the least. She looks like a 12-year-old boy.
