Star Wars: Rogue One

A lot of the non Hayden acting that was bad was because of Lucas. There are some cut scenes of Jimmy Smits and its seriously laughable dialogue and acting..and that dude aint a bad actor.

Lucas has always had a simple sense of humor. Chewbacca swinging onto the AT-ST after a TARZAN YELL? The prequel trilogy was him with full license to entertain kids and sell merchandise.

The cast for all 3 movies was full of very accomplished actors; it's almost criminal how badly Lucas made them all look.

Natalie Portman has won an Oscar and been nominated for another and many Golden Globes. Liam Neeson is an Oscar and Golden Globe nominee. Ewan McGregor is a muliple Golden Globe nominee and Primetime Emmy nominee. Samuel L. Jackson is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and Primetime Emmy nominee. Jimmy Smits is a Golden Globe winner and Primetime Emmy nominee. Even Hayden Christensen is a Golden Globe nominee.

I refuse to believe all of them just suddenly forgot how to act. That is 100% bad direction and bad writing, and that's 100% on George Lucas.

That's what I want.

I want the rumored stand alone Obi-Wan movie with Ewan McGregor. He was one of the few things about the prequels that I thought they knocked out of the park when they cast him. I'd love to see him play the role again and this time have a director that won't screw it up.

He's open it. I've seen an interview with him saying so. Lots of potential with that storyline

Yeah, I read that when all the talk started he initially was against it saying he was done with that character. But it kept being brought up to him and the more it was, the more he would think about it and ideas to do. And now he's changed his mind, that he really wants to do it.

So basically pestering him about it actually seems to have worked.

He was good in other movies I've seen, so that's why I blame the direction and script more.

I mean those prequels made several good actors seem bad.

This...a thousand times. If you just went off the prequels you probably wouldn't think Natalie Portman could act either. She is about to pick up her 2nd Academy Award nomination for Jackie and has been great in everything else.

Actually her 3rd, second for leading actress though. She got a Supporting Nom for Closer in 2005.

Lucas cannot direct his way out of a wet paper bag. However is a great ideas man. Like I've said before, the Clone Wars Animated series proved that the prequel story with Anakin and Obi Wan, the Clone Wars, Palatine's rise to power, etc were all very interesting concepts that when properly executed told a great story. I LOVE the Clone Wars series and Dave Feloni (sp?) did a fantastic job on it.

I want this one too, and I believe that we'll eventually get it. Disney will continue to make Star Wars films, as it is a cash cow.

We should see one but not soon because...

Obi Wan is going to be in one of the next two trilogy films..force ghost

That's crazy to think he's never been to a premier and watched one at least once. I take that as a workaholic moving on to the next project more than some slight to the franchise.

Makes you wonder what movies he has seen.

From what I understand, you'd be surprised at how many actors and people involved in making movies and shows don't actually watch the stuff they are in or watch very little of it.

I forgot who I was listening too, but I heard a podcast interview with a pretty well known veteran actress and the way she described it, once she was done on one project it was like leaving a job and that was that. She said she had actually watched very little of the things she had done. To be fair though, she admitted she didn't like watching herself act either, so in her case it may have been more of that.

I definitely believe it in television. The pace is so frantic that I could see most of the cast and crew not watching much of it. There is a reason fans can tell you every thing that happened in episode 38 of Star Trek but the the cast barely recalls even filming it.

On a related note, Jack Kirby never looked At a finished issue of Fantastic Four. He would write his own dialogue while he drew the issue then Stan would come in and write the dialogue that got published. Kirby would never see it.

I've always thought the promotion of movies is probably crazy too, since most movies come out at least a year after the bulk of filming has finished. Actors have to go out talking about the movie and you have to think for some they have to take some time to even remember what they filmed.

I'd love to see someone rewrite ep. 1-3. I could see Anakin having contact with the dark side prior to his entering the Jedi order. The cute kid in Ep 1 just wasn't believable and neither was c3po or r2d2 appearing.

Won't happen. Like it or not, the prequels are canon and so is The Clone Wars Animated series.

R2D2's introduction was fine (although it didn't really make sense that he sort of became Anakin's property later on).... However, it always bugged me that Anakin made C3PO. It's up there with Luke and Leia being twins as two of my pet peeves in the story.

Having said that... I kinda hope R2 and 3PO make a cameo in all the spinoff movies. Kinda like Stan Lee in the Marvel movies.

Not everybody hated Ewoks at the time. The masses didn't start hating on the Ewoks until much much later. As someone who was about 6 years old when RotJ came out I loved them and so did my friends at the time. They were mega popular. That's why they spawned a cartoon and 2 TV movies. .

Exactly! In 1983, literally no one was talking **** about Ewoks. They were loved by both kids and fans and were one of the hottest selling Christmas toys that year. It wasnt until intenet chat rooms and forums were invented did everyone decide to start bashing Lucas about them.

I still say they need to do a Jedi-Sith War trilogy series.

Interesting that you say that because Darth Bane is actually the one who puts an end to that and begins the Rule of Two among the sith. Of course thats all part of the EU that Disney just deleted, but still I would love that movie series if they did like:
movie 1: jedi vs sith war
movie 2: end of jedi vs sith war/beginning of darth bane
movie 3: the introduction of the rule of 2/end of bane
