I always thought Mace Windu was one of the cooler characters from the prequels. But then again I don't hate them, especially when it comes to episode 3, as much as a lot of people.

Of course this won't have any direct impact on Rogue One, but it's definitely interesting. I think it would be completely possible that he survived, but how would they bring him back in episodes VIII or IX? He'd have to be incredibly old.

I've heard this before and totally support bringing Mace back. He's so badass. He could've killed Sidious, whether or not he was holding back his power to turn Anakin could be argued, but he still had the chance. And iirc, he's so me of the only Jedi to master all forms of the lightsaber. Rivaled only by Yoda, Count Dooku and Sidious.

I like the idea of Mace being alive. But man, they'd have to really age Samuel L Jackson in the prep room before every film shoot.

That's what I was thinking. I'm just throwing out a guess since I don't know the exact number, but it's been about 60 years since ROTS, right? He'd have to be on up there. Either way I like the idea too.

For sure. I would've liked to have seen more duels with him (Especially one against Dooku) but I guess what we got was better than nothing.

I never cared for Mace. He was too Sam Jackson for me. To be honest, when I see the council scenes with him and Anakin I totally see why Anakin had doubts about the Jefi order. Mace was a prick.

Don't get me wrong. I like Sam Jackson. But when I think about him I don't think Jedi.

But to be fair, before the prequels all we had to go on was Old Obiwan and Yoda. Mace just seemed too condescending. I didn't really like him in Clone Wars either.

Yea that was Ian McDiarmid. He was great too. The funny thing about him is he played the Emperor in Return of the Jedi as well, so he had to play an older version of him when he was younger and a younger version when he was older.

Well according to the Wookieepedia Canon novel timeline it says that Phantom Menace starts year 0, revenge of the Sith is year 13, rogue one and a Newhope are a year 32 , return of the Jedi is year 36, and the force awakens is year 66. So Mace has been "dead" 53 years up to this point.

id have to say it was about 20-25 years. leia and luke was born in ROTS and in ANH they seem in there early 20s. im guessing anakin was in his early 20s when leia and luke was born so that would put him in his 40s in ANH.

I've heard Luke was 19 which would mean Leia was too.

The people at Celebration got an extended teaser which showed Vader but the live stream didn't show it. Also there were rumors we would get a trailer during the Force Awakens special on ABC tonight but apparently all that will be shown is that stupid BTS footage from this morning. They are handling the press for this so badly at this point.
