Steve McNair found, shot to death

Panthro, I have never stated anywhere he deserved it.

I was talking to specific comments you made, so if you want to discuss it with me, don't lump me in with other posters.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Just because you don't agree with me doesn't make my statement "absolutely ignorant"

no, it is ignorant. Having an opinion that someone deserves death for adultery is one of the dumbest things ever posted on this message board.

Don't think I ever said he deserved it. I simply said had he been home it wouldn't have happened.

And I'm having a hard time understanding how you guys are choosing harp on his alleged sins at the time of his death. You are probably the same folks who made Michael Jackson jokes last week, aren't you?
Anyone who will try to argue that a good man's death was justifiable immediately afterwards is just not the kind of person I have a lot in common with.
Oh, and he is a former football player. It's not his job to teach kids what is right and wrong. That's a parent's job.

He has 4 kids...I say it is his job to teach THEM what is right and wrong, and I'd say by his actions he's pretty much teaching them that cheating on your wife is ok.

And I think you're pretty naive if you think him and his wife had an "open" relationship.

This entire situation is very saddening. Steve might not ever be considered a top qb, will probably never be inducted into the hall, but he was possibly the most gutsy qb to play the game. There aren't many qb's to ever play the game that played through the injuries the way he did. The man was an absolute warrior and there is no sane football fan in America who could question his heart.

As for the unfortunate situation surrounding his death? The fact that he was in a relationship outside his marriage is a personal matter. It does not concern anyone but Steve, his wife, children and family members. Do I think what he did to his family was right? No, but it doesn't affect me.

It was brought up earlier that he was a role model for kids. Is the reason he was a role model that he was father and husband of the year material or was it because he was a great football player with unquestioned heart on the field? I hate to break it to you but almost all NFL players are dedicated to the game first, it is almost a necessity to play at that level, the game dictates almost every aspect of your life during the long season, during camps and workouts etc.

The what comes around goes around comment would only really be applicable here if his wife cheated to get back at him, death is not a just punishment for infidelity.

I am very interested to see where this story is going to go, I think he realized this relationship wasn't appropriate for either of them, and he was ending it, or she was pregnant and he did not want her to have his child for obvious reasons. I think it much more likely to be the former.

I think he went to end the relationship

I don't think that. My point there was simply that nobody but the McNairs know what was going on behind the scenes. Maybe you are naive if you don't believe stuff like that is very real in celebrity relationships. Let's just say I (used to be) friends with a Kansas City Chief who has a very open relationship.
This is getting off of the point. I'm not wanting to argue whether or not his wife knew he might have been sleeping around. I'm not arguing that infidelity is in any way acceptable. I'm simply frustrated that people love to look at something like this and act high and mighty like they have no demons in their own closets.
Sure he is responsible for teaching his own kids right and wrong. Too bad he didn't get a chance to teach his kids from his alleged mistake. I say alleged not because infidelity isn't wrong, but because we still aren't sure what his relationship was with this woman.
Every single person on here has done something wrong and probably very embarrassing in their lives. Did you deserve to die because of it?
HECK NO!
Now, did Steve McNair...just because he's in the public eye?
Of course not!

It might not be likely, but his scenario is based on just as much knowledge about their relationship as yours, absolutely zero. The only two people that know are he and his wife.

Is or was he a tight end by any chance? My wife's friend is married to his cousin. And it is a known fact in the family that they have unconventional arrangements.

tennessean.com has tons of coverage on this,
whole thing seems fishy the guy who found them dead didnt call the police he called a friend.
some girl that night accussed steve mc of giving her a roofie a year ago and that her boyfriend was going to kill him
that girlfriend of mcnair got a dui that night
not to mention that girl wasnt all that hot.
if i am going to cheat on my wife with a chick young enough to be my daughter then she ought to be pretty hot.

all that being said i loved mcnair in college and in the pros
think i saw him play against UTC in college

it's actually a pretty well known fact that most people panic in emergency/freak situations and call a friend over 911. The other tidbits are interesting, but I think it's just a relationship gone bad. Either between McNair and the girl or the girl and her ex.

Yeah if you remember one of the Olsen twins was raked over the coals a bit because she didn't immediately call 911 when it was discovered Heath Ledger was dead.

I will take your word for it. I guess its easy to question from here.
Fortunately for me i have never been in that situation

Ha! What's funny is that he isn't the one I was talking about. That proves my point though. Just that nobody knows what was going on with the relationship.
Again, not saying that I even believe that is what was going on, but just that when people judge a situation without knowing the facts, it comes off a little ridiculous.
All we know is that a man died long before he should have. All I knew of the man was how he held himself on the field. Based on that, I find it hard to think of a better person.

i guess it's not actually well known, I only found out when I talked to a policeman about a pizza delivery guy who called his wife after he had been brutally beaten up (for a pizza, hot wings and a cola) instead of the police. I then asked around and found out it's very common.

Yes that was sad...

This situation is sad but only for his kids, wife and the rest of the family. What goes around comes around! Had he been where he was supposed to be this wouldn't have happened. Apparently this isn't the 1st time he was cheated on his wife.
According to Kazemi's sister who was interviewed by phone on one of the Nashville news stations last night, Steve and his wife were close to finalizing a divorce at which time he and Sahel would begin living together.

It was Channel 4. However, they also said that nothing had been filed either.
