Steven Pearl is calling you out!

All of you folks dogging facebook are really showing your age as well as ignorance. It has actually evolved into a unique marketing tool and many businesses are starting to get more involved in taking advantage of social media. ChaCha, facebook, twitter, youtube...all examples of new avenues that companies are taking to drive sales. Just google "web 2.0" if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Some of us around here are good enough at what we do that we don't have to go around the internet panhandling for business. Thus, you can stick your "unique marketing tools" straight up your arse.

Completely agree. Also, I don't typically pick up my business contacts/new customers/suppliers through the internet either.

……..says the 23 year old kid. Thanks young man for educating me. I don’t know how I have survived all these years without you.

BTW…... What is this internet thingy I keep hearing so much about?

If panhandling is what Zuckerberg and Moscovitz have done, then I'd like to panhandle too.

If Steven Pearl is such a loser, why is there a 6-page thread on this message board responding to his supposed status update?

It all depends on the demographic you do business with. Trust me, in my business 14 to 25 year olds and 30- something year old losers do not seek out the services of my company.

Even if people do have a Myspace or Facebook page how idiotic for them to put stuff down as stupid as he did. There's nothing better than reading through Johnny Know-It-All's page and seeing him talk about others "getting a life". I've never understood it. It's kind of like people who put videos of themselves singing on Youtube to watch. Are people really this idiotic, or desperate?

They aren't the panhandlers. The losers who have to use their service to drum up business are. The two Harvard kids just came up with a platform to exploit the socially inept and the professionally desperate. Good for them.

Why are you back here? Did the Davidson board crash after losing to Saint Mary's in the NIT or has the "Please Stay Steph and Mommy" vigil ended?

Seriously Hat you really are digging yourself a hole here. You know so much more than me regarding the world of basketball, but this isn't even funny. Do you have any idea how many companies are using these tools now? I worked for one of the largest companies in the world (yes...world) and they certainly don't qualify as a "loser." There are conferences, conventions, and courses dedicated to this kind of stuff. I'm really not trying to start an argument here, but you guys should really look into this stuff. I agree with some of the other posts that not every type of business would call for this, but facebook is no longer a demographic for only 14-25 year olds. Five years ago you all may have been right. Things have changed now.

Oh and by the way...I think lil Pearl's comment is ridiculous. I was just pointing out that facebook isn't what many of you on here think.

I don't think Steven is being bashed for having a Facebook account. I think he is being bashed because he is on a social networking site which is totally internet related and probably takes up lots of his time. He then bashes the ones of us that are on here posting messages on an athletic message board. He is bashing us for doing the same type thing he does.

I had a MySpace account and know how time consuming it can be.

I seriously doubt there were conf on how to use facebook and any big companies showed up (maybe 2.0 but still skeptical). If they did then I hope Day 2 was sterilization. I would also bet that a huge percentage of the Fortune 500 don't even allow their employees access to social networking sites.
