Steven Pearl is calling you out!

I seriously doubt there were conf on how to use facebook and any big companies showed up (maybe 2.0 but still skeptical). If they did then I hope Day 2 was sterilization. I would also bet that a huge percentage of the Fortune 500 don't even allow their employees access to social networking sites.

Not facebook specifically...but yes on 2.0. And check the Fortune 500 again. I'd be willing to bet that 90% of them use some form of social media and are planning to use more. It's not always about if the company grants access to it or not. The company I used to work for did some stuff on Youtube yet the IT dept. at our location had the site blocked (ironic I know, but it happens). You're going to start seeing less and less of these blocked as more companies jump in.

from a person who works in IT, I believe that's false. Bandwidth, viruses, employees wasting time (not me of course), etc. will cause networks to become more constricted not less.

Seriously Hat you really are digging yourself a hole here. You know so much more than me regarding the world of basketball, but this isn't even funny. Do you have any idea how many companies are using these tools now? I worked for one of the largest companies in the world (yes...world) and they certainly don't qualify as a "loser." There are conferences, conventions, and courses dedicated to this kind of stuff. I'm really not trying to start an argument here, but you guys should really look into this stuff. I agree with some of the other posts that not every type of business would call for this, but facebook is no longer a demographic for only 14-25 year olds. Five years ago you all may have been right. Things have changed now.

Oh and by the way...I think lil Pearl's comment is ridiculous. I was just pointing out that facebook isn't what many of you on here think.
I have no need to "look into it." Lots of Fortune 500 companies probably advertise on the Lifetime Channel. Doesn't mean I need to start watching bad movies starring washed up TV actresses. Facebook is as relevant and meaningful to me as a Nancy McKeon mini-series.

Why are you back here? Did the Davidson board crash after losing to Saint Mary's in the NIT or has the "Please Stay Steph and Mommy" vigil ended?

do you really want to know the reason for my hiatus? Because I bet that your response on this board would be that it's completely irrelevant to your world.

They aren't the panhandlers. The losers who have to use their service to drum up business are. The two Harvard kids just came up with a platform to exploit the socially inept and the professionally desperate. Good for them.

just like the same losers who resorted to using other past inventions to drum up business. like electricity. and the telephone. and television. and modern transportation. and the internet.

which pretty much leaves real, live panhandlers as the only ones who didn't have to use such services.

Are you really comparing facebook to electricity?

Senate confirmation hearings to work for Obama? :p

Did you pay your taxes?

Yes, that way I can see if there's anything that can be done to make it permanent. Just trying to help.

since you have such a high opinion of yourself, i would only guess that you'll want to spread your DNA around (perhaps you already have). and if you want to nurture that DNA the right way, you take a break from certain diversions, such as college sports message boards.

how many corporations do you think right now are trying to figure out how to use facebook to make more money?

I'm sure the demand is as high as when electricity, the telephone and transportation was invented.

That's a poor guess. Sequels are rarely on par with the original.

Dear lord, please do not encourage Hat to procreate.
