I will say it has a lot of steam on VQ, and a few of the posters there who are pretty solid say they're hearing he's gone. Really hope this isn't true...

Ugh. Really wanted to see him with Maymon for a full season.

A lot of people saying he hasn't been to class since NIT loss, I know sprig break was in there but how many days is that if true? And if true he's destroying our APR by not continuing to finish the year.

that would be like 1 day of class before spring break and then how many ever he missed this week

Don't think so.

He was considered a UT lock with Pearl as coach. Didn't even want to give Martin the time of day after he was hired. Answered his call accidentally. He has said as much himself.

CCM benefitted from having an available scholarship midyear.

I never said otherwise. He never intended to give Martin the time of day and answered his phone call by accident. From there, they hit it off and his curious situation (midyear enrollee) made Tennessee a much easier choice.

The point though, as it relates to the original issue, is he was nearly certain to sign with UT with Pearl.

Had Pearl still been the coach, it's possible that we would have been using all 13 scholarships in 2011-12. If so, we wouldn't have been able to give him a scholarship midyear, regardless of how much he wanted to come. Florida had an opening, so he might have gone there instead of paying his own way here for one semester or sitting out the Spring. We'll never know.
