Had Pearl still been the coach, it's possible that we would have been using all 13 scholarships in 2011-12. If so, we wouldn't have been able to give him a scholarship midyear, regardless of how much he wanted to come. Florida had an opening, so he might have gone there instead of paying his own way here for one semester or sitting out the Spring. We'll never know.
My guess...he's in Memphis probably working out for/with some people trying to get some feedback. I don't think a decision has likely been made either way, but if he isn't back in Knoxville soon that's bad news. On that same note, if he doesn't return to Knoxville he deserves a lot of criticism and has lost any respect I have for him. It will hurt our APR, and there's no reason he should not be finishing out the year academically, heck even the UK players do.

We are cursed. Just like we never got to see Da'Rick, Hunter, and CP on the field at the same time, we will not get Maymon and Stokes together for a full season. What's next? Is Mercedes Russell going to tear her ACL? Is Hurd going to decide to give up football in favor of starting a llama farm in Peru?
If stokes informs coaches he's going pro CCM better be beating the door down for Josh Smith.
