See where the last 10 teams to win a national championship averaged in recruiting and get back to me. This has been argued over and over in the media and the answer is top 5, maybe top 10 once or twice, so just quit.

So who are you "constructively criticizing?" Butch isn't reading this, and when you criticize someone who can't hear you, it sounds a lot like whining.

A Roster full of 3* can be coached up and will always be able to compete, but will not be able to get to the next level and compete for Championships... period.

Well we will be in a bad position cause not to knock butch but I think he is the type of coach that has to recruit over or higher than his coaching abilities in order to win. No offense but we should have won the east hands down last year. A couple of classes like this, if this is how we end this recruiting cycle, and it's back to middle of the pack sec east, competing with USC and hoping to beat KY and Vandy every year.

Forget the fact that Nick Saban and Urban Meyer - the two best coaches in CFB- were coaching most of those teams.

We have all sorts of talent from our past 3 classes. This 2017 one is bringing in less talent right now, but still good talent.

We're still a talented team. One top 15 class isnt going to change that...

Last year was ranked 14th. Follow it up with another subpar class and we are not restocking with similar talent we will be losing from the 2014 & 2015 classes.

Wow I always thought that those who kept up with recruiting would at the very least know a little bit about how it works. Clearly thats not always the case.

I'm not blind to what's playing out recruiting wise. Big target after big target coming off the board. It doesn't look as though a bunch of our top targets are "waiting" to see how the season plays out. I get the feeling the coaches saw it coming and that's why we have 20 3* commitments today.

So remind me when NSD is again? Oh yeah according to you the 2017 class should be done with by October. No flips. No mind changes, thats it. Just forget about the 2017 guys and focus solely on 2018.

So tell me, have our top targets signed their LOIs? Or have they just verbally pledged?

Top 10 classes are critically important.

Might as well shut down the entire Tennesse University system. Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Martin. Heck. Remove all institutions of higher learning from the state of Tennessee!
