here's a thing about UCF in 2007 and storming the field

Central Florida Future - Field storming raises questions

it does get into that the school becomes suspect to penalty from both C-USA and the NCAA

so it's not just an SEC rule

Damn, they went from just a violation to a full bore crime.

I see and know the intent and agree with the rule. It shouldn't be done. It more of a safety thing in my eyes. And, a class thing, too.

Do you know if there is a release of liability statement printed on the tickets? I've never really paid attention in the past.

personally I don't want to give UK fans the satisfaction.

Also the Kansas fans were pretty impressed that we didn't do it to them.

That sounds like what I'm finding out. And, some addressed it and some haven't yet. :good!:

above your post i found one about UCF also; i think since they're suspect to NCAA penalty fine on top of CUSA fine, then each NCAA school is suspect to similar fine from the NCAA

yeah he can pay for it

hope he's go over $75,000 lying around too if he wants to keep doing it

Yep, I think that we should just storm the court every time we win a game in basketball because Kiffin went to USC. That was a great justification.

You saw the reaction out of all the fans and students when Kiffin left.

When we finally have a reason to go nuts in celebration we dont.

We would rather go nuts and crazy over getting screwed in the a**
The reaction of the fans when Kiffin left was an embarrassment to many, including me.

Storming the court is bush league. As someone else said, fans for top 20 programs should expect to win at home.

Why limit it to beating a top 5 team? What if you beat the 6th ranked team? Can you storm the court? How about the 8th ranked team? When does it end?

Act like you've been there before.

I think beating the #1 ranked team in the nation a week after you suspended your best player and three other important players on your home court.

That is subject to be STORMED!!:clapping:

not a clue on that; i would imagine the university tells the fans in someway....i think usually it's just the guy on the loudspeaker says something along the lines of "please refrain from storming the field after the conclusion of today's game"....maybe followed by something along the lines of "it's a violation of NCAA rule"

What's $75,000 for the right to "go nuts?"

78 grand is a drop in the bucket for UT. If we storm the court, believe me, the press will/might crucify us.

"Crazed, backwards toothless hillbillys storm court because they got lucky and won a game". Or, something like that.

That's right. After getting all the negative publicity for our players getting arrested, we should have stormed the court as fans to further expand our reputation as being law abiding citizens.

And rightfully so.

Thanks. I learn more stuff here that I thought I knew already. But, don't. 'Preciate the help.:hi:

So we should pay 78 grand for a few seconds of jubilation and negative press coverage?

Yea. Sorry, I didn't mean to make that sound like I was referring to you. I was referring to the OP's justification in a previous post.

Actually no, it came about Dec. 1 2004 a week after that big brawl in the NBA between players and fans at an Indiana Pacers - Detroit Pistons game; and then the following week USCe and Clemson's players got into a fight

if anything, it's a precautionary reaction to the NBA brawl

Just goes to show you that the rule-makers in sports can't tell the difference between acts of violence and acts of happiness. Violence should be prevented. Celebration should be encouraged.

There is nothing to prevent you from storming the court. Just be prepared for the consequences (arrest).

well, while a university does bring in alot of money, most all of it is already tied into payments on stuff they've already built, bought, or have to maintain all over their campus (like in every single building for example)

In this economy too, the schools are also having to make up for losing parts of their endowment totals (more than likely with the stocks)....and since more than likely they already spent closer towards the higher previous total, money became tighter, so it could be a bigger deal than we think....especially if it has to come all from one department (such as the athletic only)

No. Maybe it didn't read like I saw it in my head. I'm saying', it's not worth it and not a good thing to do for several reasons. Just pointing out that the money isn't one of the major reasons not to do it. Safety, lack of class, etc. plus news will run with the type of story I inferred.
