Should Vol fans storm the court when we beat a top 5 team?

act like you've been there before.. dont forget were supposed to own kentucky. thats the way this rivalry works.

Too much can go wrong when fans storm the court. I say act like you've been there before and will be there again.

It's embarrassing....Just as it was embarrassing back in 98 when the Vols beat Florida and the crowd stormed the field.....

I didn't really see that as embarrasing. We had finally gotten a five year monkey off our back, and deserved to celebrate in style. That's one of the reasons I ended up settling on the season tickets I have now (Sect L, row 9.) If big win like that ever comes up again in the future, I'll be in prime position to get in on the fun this time.

When was the last time you saw UNC, Duke, Kansas, UConn etc. storm the court. I'd like us to act like we expected to win.

I mean did you really think that we had any chance in beating Kansas just a few days after we found out that Smith, Williams, Tatum, and Goins weren't going to be playing?

How about instead of storming the court, we simply slowing walk on in single file, not saying a word, and then when the court is full of people, the scoreboard operater hits the horn and then we go Nuckin FUTS!!!!

No stormin=No fine!!

UT>UK

I was glad we didn't storm the floor Saturday because we outplayed Kentucky. They got lucky to be close at the end. It showed class by not doing it.

I was at the Kansas-UT game a month or so ago in Knoxville and the stadium was electric!! I could not even talk by the end!! But I was blocked from storming the court.

When I ran on the court I got threatened to get off or be removed from the stadium???

I noticed how we did not storm the court against Kentucky and how OK State drowned the court with their win over Kansas!!!

WHATS UP WITH THAT!! GIVE ME A D*** BREAK!!

WHEN IS IT THEN ACCEPTABLE TO STORM THE COURT!!

APPARENTLY NOT WHEN WE BEAT THE #1 or #2 TEAMS

Act like you had done it before. If we are to become a power in basketball then expect to win big games

There is a time and place for most things...Saturday's victory warrants no storm bc Bruce is a remarkable 69-8 at home...Now when Palardy kicks the game winner vs Bama this year...I will be storming:rock:

I recorded and watched the Len Bias 30 for 30 the other night. Several games from the 1986 season showed the Maryland fans storming the court after conference wins. I guess they only hoped to win an occasional upset.
Didn't South Carolina storm the court after beating Kentucky? What elite company.

IF that happens, you can meet me and my buddies at the goalpost in the south endzone.:rock:

what happens if bama's just an average team coming into the game?

The practice has changed over the years. It used to be more commonplace than it is today. Have you ever watched Game 5 of the 1976 NBA finals on ESPN classic? The fans stormed the Garden floor after Havlicek hit the supposed game winner, and had to be cleared before Gar Heard hit the gametying shot to send the game to a third overtime. Many clips of older games show fans out on the playing field after the game was over. For example after Bill Mazerowski hit the GW home run in the 1960 world series, kids were out on the field running with him as he circled the bases. And in the old days of Yankee stadium, fans always went on the field after the game, because that was the way you exited from the lower level, by going onto the field, and out through the bullpen.

Jesus Christ, are we good or not? You homers need to make up your minds.

No, our Coach is the best coach in the nation. Our team is great if they make the tourney. We just can't expect to compete for anything more though so it is shocking if we beat a top team!! :eek:lol:  :dance2::eek:k::salute:

I don't believe anyone has said this, but what about a come from behind victory over a top ranked team? Or a last second three to win the game? I mean those kind of moments generally are given court stormings. If we were to hit a game winning 3 point shot after being down by 20 in the second half to beat #1 UK, why not storm it?? Just mho.

I like that view. We have the #1 coach in the nation; yet, it's completely unreasonable to expect postseason success. Perfect logic.

You better watch out LawVol, you may get one of these soon.... :shaking2:

I always love that go-to comeback.

Me too. Or the division titles come back. I guess we should just realize that the best coaches in America build their resumes not on postseason success but rather on how many division titles they can win. I guarantee Cal is selling to Brandon Knight, "You come to UK, and we're going to hang an East Championship banner.
