Streets are talking again

Most kids smoke weed.

It makes food taste better. Sex feel better. You become more introspective. You hear music in a totally different way. Movies are way more awesome when you're high.

There's really no reason NOT to smoke weed other than some bs laws created in the 1920's and 1930's.

No they don't.

This post is as dumb as any post I have ever seen. Weed IS NOT good for you at anytime. If used moderately and recreationally, it can be relaxing and have some good medicinal effects. The fact is there are plenty of reasons not to smoke. Unfortunately, many companies and jobs test randomly for it. I don't see anything wrong with recreational use, but once you've moved out of your parents' basement you will understand the reasons why you can't sit around high all the time

Get educated, son. Why do you think companies test for weed and not, say, alcohol?

Because it's classified as an illegal narcotic. Not because it hinders an employees ability to work. Alcohol is legal but not at work. Smoking weed is the same. It should and will eventually be legalized as well.

Actually the majority of kids today admit to having tried it. He didn't say most use it habitually.

I think athletes are a perfect example of why it is illegal and is addicting. If athletes are throwing away their career because they can not stop smoking this stuff, then the drug clearly has effects on the person.

Momma always said stupid is as stupid does...

That is kinda depressing that your mom called you stupid every day. No wonder you had to resort to drugs.

They do test for alchohol

Get educated on what? I forgot more about this subject than you will ever know

Your work tests you for alcohol?

I believe your statement is that "weed is not good for you ever", or something to that effect. You need to hit the books, mang.

Wrong, way wrong.

You claim weed "IS NOT good for you at anytime" but you also claim it has good "medicinal effects".

Um....

Why does a thread 2 years old about Tatum bouncing excite me even though I know it aint gonna happen :(

Here's to HOPE :D

My employer tests for alcohol and reserves the right to test you for the influence of drugs or alcohol at any time under the pretense of probable cause.

Big boy jobs come with big boy responsibility.

I think I would rather have my paycheck, then an hour or two of being high. Ofcourse, I couldn't care less what anyone else does. If you want to smoke, then smoke; if you want to snort, then snort.

I was right there with you. Tatum had alot of potential, that much was obvious during his first season. Sadly the guy has regressed over the length of his career.

Still contributed quite a bit over his career. Ready to see him move on though.

Each year. You hardly ever see someone do that.

Yeah, I made it all up.

why would you make up statements that are just false, no job test for alcohol most actually condone the use? are you just trying sound cool on this message board. c'mon man!

maybe employers in memphis dont test for alcohol or probably any drug for that matter, but thats because if they did the unemployment would probably quadruple. here in the knoxville area i can vouche that most places drug test, and many recently that i know of are bringing in alcohol tests as well.

:eek:lol:

I live in Knoxville, dummy. I've practiced employment law here for years and I can count the amount of times I've run across and employer's "anti-alcohol testing policy" on a blind shop teacher's nub.

Employer's may test urine, and they may throw an "ETOH" test in there at no extra cost to the employer, but its a pointless test. Having ETOH in your system isn't against the law and it isn't even an indicator of intoxication. Even a .01 BAC is indicator that someone may have had a drink anywhere from 2-14 hours ago.

The real reason that employers drug-test is to find the fat-soluble drugs, like weed, that stay in a person's system for weeks. The other water-soluble drugs, meth, coke and ETOH, stay in the system for a matter of hours. A drug test may luck up and hit on one of these, at which time a company can fire an employee for having an illegal substance in their system, except in the case of ETOH, of course.

A test hits on ETOH and you've just probably proven that the employee had a few cocktails after dinner last night. Congrats.

Uhm dumBy I never said that you didn't live in Knoxville did I?

The fact that what, 3 posters on here already claim that their employer can test for alcohol it would seem more than just a couple do actually test for it.

If you know I live in Knoxville, then why were you talking about Memphis?

ANYONE can test for ANYTHING, but there's no point to a ETOH test via urine. Same isn't true for weed.

My job doesn't but I have heard of employers giving breathalyzers if they thought you were or had recently been drinking. FWIW

Not a urine test, eh?

I can tell you from experience that very few gaive breath tests, mostly those in construction or transportation fields. You've got to have a breathalyzer on sight (can't send a sample away), so it's not feasible for most employers but it's the best way to deter alcohol related liability.

Just speaking from my experience and people I've heard. Obviously if this is your profession you will know every detail all I was saying was like other posters simple some jobs do do alcohol testing.
