In the same manner I heard the talk about Duke Crews, I heard about 2-3 weeks ago some whispers on the street about one of our current basketball players. I didn't want to run with it then because it was just street talk.
Well, just heard on the Saturday sports show in Knoxville (1180 AM) that there is now some talk about the basketball team maybe having a scholarship available and a player being asked to leave.
They guy involved in the talk I heard about a few weeks ago was Tatum, but I'm not certain if the player mentioned this morning is Tatum or not.
Anybody heard anything?
If it was just reefer, I would agree with you. But it is the other details that go along with it that makes these incidents stand out. With both Duke Crews and Cam Tatum, the people telling me the stories are not the kind of people college kids (or really me for that matter) need to be associated with. But I have to be around some of these people from time to time.if every school got rid of their basketball players that smoked pot we would all be soccer fans because there would be no more basketball...

I will say this, not much good goes on at night on Texas or Minnesota Avenues. No UT athletes name needs to be bouncing off of the lips of the guys I know outside of football or basketball talk.

Ivan Racheff...Lonsdale and WP Taylor?
Sad times for the program. Dumbest part of the whole thing for lots of these idiots is they do not realize that being around real gangstas (not rappers who are posing) is dangerous and that they are such big guys with fame and a spotlight that they are big targets. Literally they are big targets and it is easier to get blasted when you cannot hide anywhere. Metaphorically when you have lots of opportunities and fame and women it creates jealousy from wannabe scarfaces who are the prince of their little slice of welfare hell.
Dope dealers don't get welfare b/c of attention but Crackheads do.

Is anybody ready to come to terms with the fact that this guy has never lived up to his potential because of things going on outside of campus?
I'll say this, I'm not sure if things are better in Knoxville today than they were between 2006-2010, but I do know that during that time period, there were things told to me that would make Richard Pryor and Frank Lucas blush.
Hopefully, Cuonzo and Dooley are able after this season to flush out the last remnants from that era and get us back to where we need to be in both sports. As far as I know, Tatum is the last of that bunch that is left on campus.
I've said for years that by just looking at him that he either does/sells drugs, or does some other street activity. Just looks kinda thugish
The exception doesn't disprove the general rule.
9 times out of 10, what you see is what you get.
What do you see when you see Tatum? Or Duke Crews, Romar Smith or Nukeese for that matter?
I hate to be or sound racist (I'm black btw), but I'm just saying.
