Streets are talking again

It's amazing to me that whenever the subject of drug use and college players comes up, the first assumption is weed.

Kind of funny.

Not as amazing as random guy with no direct knowledge asserting crack, meth, pain pill, heroin or ectasy usage.

I don't like Cam, but I don't like people doing what you are doing either.

Cam is athletic. He just doesn't have the head, the knees or the game to be a good basketball player. It happens.

what drug would be your guess that is effecting tatum?

I honestly have no idea what he is on at this moment. But as I know this in regards of 2009, the drug that came up in a few conversations I had was not weed.

Here's something else to think about... We've had a bunch of football and basketball players test positive for weed and ended up being forced to go elsewhere this past decade. Makes you wonder if that is the only drug we were testing for. How else would you explain 1) Ainge not getting booted off, 2) Tatum not getting booted off or 3) Duke Crews' mysterious heart condition and almost capricious removal from the team several months later.

(Yeah, I went there)

i can also tell you that its the most popular drugs. im not going to name names but i can vouche first hand that quite a few starting members of last years football team enjoyed a nice toke.

I've PM'ed a few people the stories and I've posted them here (but they were deleted).

I don't need to say anymore but let this whole thing play out.

tatum will be gone soon enough, i wonder about hall a bit but other than that i feel ok about the rest of our roster.

I've never smoked it with him. I don't directly know anyone who has. I don't know that he has tested positive, and he didn't test positive after the weed was found in the car with BW. He hasn't been suspended or benched for off the court violations. He is in good academic standing.

What else am I to go by? What an anonymous poster says on a message board?

One more thing... don't get it twisted. I had hoped from day 1 that the stories were false. But there is just too much smoke surrounding Tatum. I got a phone call not too long after the Tyler Smith fiasco and got to hear "I told you so" about 10 times in my ear. I was a believer after that.

Most kids smoke weed.

It makes food taste better. Sex feel better. You become more introspective. You hear music in a totally different way. Movies are way more awesome when you're high.

There's really no reason NOT to smoke weed other than some bs laws created in the 1920's and 1930's.

Spit it out. You bumped your own thread. What drug are you telling VN that Cam is on?

Neither was Erik Ainge. I know people will take that as me slamming Ainge again, but that is not the intent. The point is that either these guys have just been lucky throughout their careers at Tennessee or they just are not testing for anything other than reefer (insufficient testing???).

At this point, who knows...

there is a clear drug problem that took place the last few years in the athletic department and not enough testing positive, atleast that we were told of. i have wondered this for awhile now with guys like ainge who never tested positive for anything. as i said also guys on the football team who i can put my hand on the bible and say have toked it up. how we dont have more positive tests is beyond me.

This will be a big loss. Tatum has tons of potential.

Idiocy.

But to be fair, Tatum looked like a potential All-SEC performer during his first year at Tennessee. That said, other things were contributing factors to him becoming a bust. One reason being injuries and the other reason has been discussed in this thread.

Haha. Candidate for PON IMO.

I was right there with you. Tatum had alot of potential, that much was obvious during his first season. Sadly the guy has regressed over the length of his career.

Still contributed quite a bit over his career. Ready to see him move on though.

Do you see him playing overseas after his time at UT?

I am not condoning drinking or weed but weed is a such a small concern when compared to all the crack use,etc going on around East Tennessee campus' years ago. I'm sure it's everywhere just kinda kept hushed up I suppose.
