but it's amazing how when comparing percentages of the college demographics to the percentages of CEO demographics, the subjective opinion (since you like to throw ambition, drive, etc. in there) is that white males are more qualified. they're all getting the same degree, so the overriding factor has to be a subjective opinion, one of which favors white males overwhelmingly in this country.

White males have tougher admission standards. Thus, it's only reasonable that they would be more likely to do well in college.

It's not like something could ever happen to a woman that would cause her to take significant time off of work and thus lose ground in her race to the top.

intersting that you quoted the rate for fortune 500 companies which almost soley hire people with post graduate degrees (mostly law or business), yet don't show statistics for the non fortune 500 companies which hire said people at a much lower %. could it be because a very small % of people with post graduate degrees are black?

and i notice you chose to ignore the study i posted showing women are 50% less likely than men to be willing to work 50+ hours a week.

Pretty much every Fortune 500 company is headquartered in a big city, where racism cannot exist. Thus, that is not a factor in the hiring of CEOs.

it's not like studies haven't been done to prove that women in the SAME position (IE doing the same work) get less than males.

and actually there has never been a study that has shown women currently get paid less for the same work. Not a one.

you're the one that said they're all getting the same degree. You also fail to mention the type of degree from a certain school. Then you realize that (as droski said) most CEO's have advanced degrees and your generic stats about people with BA's being employed is worthless

paying your dues DO NOT matter. If you are in the SAME position as somebody (IE the company thought you were just as qualified despite not "paying your dues." though, i think, continuing the human race is paying dues but maybe that's just me), you should get equal pay. It's not happening.

Dude, you suck at arguing. You think I want to get rid of maternity leave? I don't give a crap. But when a promotion is coming up, who's going to get it? The chick that's 5 months pregnant and could be missing a lot of work in the near future? The chick that's just coming back after a long hiatus? Or the guy that's been busting his ass and shows no sign of slowing down. Women are going to fall behind because of that stuff. It's just the way it is.
