Sugar Bowl: #2 Clemson v #3 Ohio St (ESPN, 8PM EST)

Come on, that’s an idiotic comparison.
CTE is a real thing and we are just now beginning to understand it. Targeting calls are designed to protect the defender and defenseless player. We realized that we can eliminate potentially unnecessary brain trauma and made rules about it. The Clemson player could have made that without endangering himself. As we learn more we make better decisions.

In the day we thought dehydrating people was good motivational technique. Then we learned that was pretty stupid. So as we learned more we made better decisions

Man. I rued the day that Meyer was hired at TOSU. Day is good in his own right, but Urban changed the fate of that program.

It’s really not. We now know that the blows to the head haves cumulative effect and they’re trying to cut down on them to the degree that they can.

When the runner ducks, twists etc it can’t be helped all the time. It’s a contact sport.

I understand targeting to the head but I don’t agree with trying to make a clean tackle and getting ejected because a helmet contacts a players body. Runners are not exactly stationary targets.
Tacklers are not supposed to tuck their head and lead with the crown. We were taught to keep your head up so we would not have neck injuries.

No argument there. But defenders have to know that they flat out can’t lower their helmet and lead with their head.

I hate seeing kids injured. I guess I'm getting old. hahahaaa... Maybe it's time to find a pasture.

If the powers that be really wanted to reduce head injuries they would go back to leather helmets or at least do away with face-masks. That would change behavior more than anything.

your comparison to withholding water is stupid.
