CTE is a real thing and we are just now beginning to understand it. Targeting calls are designed to protect the defender and defenseless player. We realized that we can eliminate potentially unnecessary brain trauma and made rules about it. The Clemson player could have made that without endangering himself. As we learn more we make better decisions.Come on, that’s an idiotic comparison.
Tacklers are not supposed to tuck their head and lead with the crown. We were taught to keep your head up so we would not have neck injuries.I understand targeting to the head but I don’t agree with trying to make a clean tackle and getting ejected because a helmet contacts a players body. Runners are not exactly stationary targets.
