I don't know that the "in over his head" description is necessarily inaccurate. He inherited a program that had had 3 consecutive recruiting class busts: 07-09. The roster was pretty close to what you would expect from a school that had received the NCAA death penalty. I don't think there's a coach in the country including Lord Saban who could have won in that scenario... and the proof of that is pretty simple. No one with a better resume would touch the job. Dooley is in over his head pretty much because anyone else would be.

I have absolutely no problem with seeing him held accountable. I have a big problem with seeing him fired for things done by Fulmer and Kiffin... or more specifically "not done" by Fulmer and Kiffin.

The problem with you is that you consistently spew hate without considering what Dooley took over. Worse yet, you do it fully knowing that your comments could hurt recruiting which hurts the program with or without Dooley.

And as far as recruiting goes, if he cannot out recruit a damned message board he SHOULD GET OUT OF COACHING!

More people than not, even the "slurpers", have been critical of Dooley. Especially the Kentucky loss. Why would I ignore your posts? They bring entertainment to the board. I just wish you could take more time away from the fryer at McDonald's to post more.

Instead we're once again hiring (for whatever reason, money, lack of interest due to the one-and-done likelihood of Dooley's tenure) a "lotsa potential" guy. How'd that work out for Fulmer when he hired Clawson? Insanity.

As a side bonus, with this hire he's managed to piss off one of the program most loyal coaches and proven recruiters (Lance Thompson).

The dumpster fire that is the current state of our football program sadly.... blazes on.

Seems we blew a chance to upgrade with Shannon.

Regardless of how clueless your opinions are, you should at least be able to support pointed claims you make. What I do know is that you have to give him time, at least that's MHO and it's an opinion shared by the decision makers and virtually every ex-player/coach, analyst that covers college FB

Beyond that, the manner in which you think in absolute extremes automatically puts your intelligence level at question. Us??? Prove it. I started a thread within the last couple of weeks entitled "Was it always going to get worse before it got better". I pretty much laid out how those three failed recruiting classes were all but certain to result in a decline in talent/leadership amongst upperclassmen until '12.

If you want to show last year's or, even less so, this year's Sr/Jr classes were loaded with SEC dominating talent... have at it. Roster wise, '12 was going to be low ebb for UT regardless of who the coach happened to be.

If you don't recognize that Dooley took over one of the worst situations imaginable then it is you that is BLIND... but you have pretty much demonstrated that you are completely blinded by bias so I suppose that's rhetorical.

Larry (LWSVol) said he had seen printouts that had been given to UT recruits from message boards like this one. Why should a coach EVER be required to out recruit his own fan base? Shouldn't "fans" do things that support their team even if they don't like the current coach?
