Out of curiosity. Let's see what ESPN is broadcasting this weekend besides college baseball:

I'm no boxing fan by any means- I do bet on MMA, but Tennessee and Florida State are being wholly shafted for these two mediocre events?

Not even the "Cinderella" storyline was compelling enough to change our time slots. ESPN making a business decision. They have the historical data for ratings, so it is what it is.

I won't get to see a full inning. Loaded my schedule both Friday and Saturday for the mornings so I could be home to watch early evening.

So there is a possibility with way bracket plays out..we get early game times for world series if we make it....

We now know that we would play on Day 1 of the College World Series. The times would be set by ESPN later.

Again, I would rather have played on Saturday to give people an extra day to make travel arrangements and get moving.
The only advantage for Friday is an extra rest day in losers bracket play.

It’s not ideal, and the rowdiness of the crowd will likely be impacted by the time slots, but I had a feeling we’d be the least compelling matchup and get the shaft. I suppose this is the price you pay for an easier path to Omaha. I guess I’ll take it though.

That's a positive way to look at it. Just not sure.

I think it also let's them avoid LNS at its rowdiest. We shall see.

But they also get a likely less rowdy crowd on Saturday. It worked for them Monday as well since they got a noon crown in Greenville as well.

I say everyone stay up late, party all night. Go to game then take a nap.

The 11 am time will actually make it easier for those waiting in line for SRO tickets. Just have to wait until 9:30 am now instead of 1:30 or later.

If it was Vols vs Wake Forest, we would 100% be in the Primetime slots! But we get the crappy slots because of Evansville...not because of us. It's a historically bad seed vs the #1 overall seed. Nobody expects them to upset us, so there isn't much of a draw to watch.

I’ll say this much, Tennessee-Florida State (if it happens) will be the premier matchup on our side of the bracket so we’ll get the prime time slot in Omaha the following weekend for Game 1.

Just don’t need what happened in the 1st inning of the ND series in ‘22 to repeat when they hit absolute tanks off of Blade Tidwell. Don’t think this team will let that happen. That ND team was gutsy and skilled as hell, and old.

I think one reason we are maybe better this year that 24 is the lack of pitching super stars. CVT is not concerned about egos or needing one guy to eat up innings. Think of how short Stamos hook was Friday. Compare that to Blade's outing.
