Keaten Wade, a four-star Class of 2022 outside linebacker from Summit High School in Spring Hill, Tenn., told GoVols247 on Thursday night that he and his twin brother are “pretty much down to, like, two colleges” going into their planned trip to Kentucky on Friday and Saturday. They already have visited each of their other three finalists — Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia — over the past few weeks.

The 6-foot-4, 223-pound Wade and his brother, who’s a four-star Class of 2022 athlete/quarterback, revealed Wednesday that they’re set to announce their choice April 16 during a ceremony at their school that’s scheduled to start at 4 p.m. Central time. They’re planning to attend the same school, but Keaten Wade said they haven’t arrived at a decision just yet.

“It’s a tough decision,” said Wade, who’s ranked the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 16 outside linebacker in the 2022 class and the No. 4 junior from the state of Tennessee, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.

“We’re going down to, like, the most detailed aspect for where we want to choose a college. But it’s pretty much down to, like, two colleges.”

Two of the twin brothers’ Summit teammates, athlete Brady Pierce and lineman Mason Richardson, received preferred walk-on offers from Kentucky on Thursday. Tennessee followed suit in extending a preferred walk-on offer to Pierce, who’s a close friend of the Wades.

“I didn’t know it was going to come right now,” Keaten Wade said of his teammates’ preferred walk-on offers. “We were talking about it, because one of my teammates is really good — my best friend. He’s just a good player, so we sent his film and 7v7 film to both schools and they liked it, so they gave him a PWO.”

Wade said the possibility of being Pierce’s teammate again in college “definitely is a great appeal.”

“He’s played with us since we first started playing,” Keaten Wade said of Pierce, “so it’d be pretty cool to have a couple more years with him playing the sport that we grew up playing together.”

played, or, lied? all one can do is take someone's word. is that an indictment on AP, 17 year old yes man, or the parents of said 17 year old?

Losing these guys to KY would be the latest in a long line of hard kicks to the crotch. I think I’m going to try to tune out recruiting, at least until we get to see some product on the field.

I mean bye, don’t wanna be part of us oh well. It’s not like we haven’t been here before. Just gotta give the staff time to put their product on the field Tn sells itself, just haven’t been very good in a lot of years past but with this new offense , may end up being scary good for us and help with recruiting down the road.

The twins are a take, but it is not the end of the world if they sign elsewhere. Destin wants a shot at QB.

I wonder if a lot of recruits are getting to the mindset of anything is better than Tennessee? Is it getting to the point to where there like it's just not worth the trouble yea sure Kentucky is bad we know that we have always known that but at least they are not trying to fool anybody. I just looked at 247 and Hayden has a crystal Ball to Ohio St. we could possibly be on pace to lose the top 10 guys and then some in our own state.
