Whole point is to stop seeing people through a racial lense. Darn Dems want to keep it alive so they can keep minorities enslaved to their perpetual victimhood and thus their need for bwanna massa lady Karen to heps them.

Dems claim that being colorblind is being racist! Can you image MLK turning over in his grave?

In today's day and age - why should anyone care what color skin you have at all? are you 1/8 black, 1/4 mexican, 2/3 irish? who cares?

The whole idea is to see people for what they are not what they look like. What they are is based on what they believe and how they think, the choices they make.

Not sure the Democratic Party is not absolutely loving this decision privately. They will raise hundreds of millions of dollars on this and continue to push blacks into believing they cannot make it without the help of the party.

Can this view point also be applied to ice cream. Butter Pecan is now a flavor derived from a racist past.

LMAO .... who cares what Obama & Michael say about the SCOTUS rulings. They already are wealthy beyond their means & don't care about others but themselves & where they stand. They just want to act like they care so they can go on TV shows now & try to be relevant.

Race should not be a data point that is allowed to be in the database of university applicants at all (either via the university applications requiring that data themselves or via the universities acquiring that data externally from data aggregators or other third parties). That is the ONLY way to prevent universities from continuing to do whatever they want to do.

That's my thinking as well. The question of race shouldn't even be on the application

Careful, that's our next President.

If (D)iversity is essential to academic excellence, then what was Harvard producing for the first 350 years of its existence?

Academic Mediocrity? Was that what built Harvard’s reputation and $50B endowment?

Not directed at you just saw an opportunity to share something no one else has.

Harvard as a private institution should be able to discriminate who they want when they want where they want and why they want. However they should never get any public education funds or student loan money while doing so.

That’s basically what they said here in a footnote. Harvard accepts federal funds, which brings them under the rules of Title VII, or whatever, and they basically said that the Title VII standard and constitutional standard are an interchangeable as a basis for merging the UNC case and Harvard case.

Harvard will be in no hurry to give up its federal funding.

Supreme Court Exempts Military Academies in Affirmative Action Ruling

Though the Supreme Court ruled against affirmative action at higher education institutions on Thursday, the court’s 6-3 majority opinion will not affect military academies.

“No military academy is a party to these cases, however, and none of the courts below addressed the propriety of race-based admissions systems in that context,” the decision read. “This opinion also does not address the issue, in light of the potentially distinct interests that military academies may present.”

Usually when someone says “finally” that’s a real good clue that they’re stipulating that it hasn’t occurred yet.
lol....Just making it clear for those who struggle.
I'll take it one more step for you....
Affirmative action wasn't a step away from colorblindness; it was compensation for a history of color obsession and a necessary step for becoming more colorblind.

I don’t think I would be talking about anyone else struggling. He said finally we can move toward the promise of the Constitution and the DOI and your ears heard “The South shall rise again “.
