I agree, Louis's an ass and I wouldn't work for him either. But said accountant refusing to work for any black person on principle, or Joe Christian refusing to let the accountant eat at his restaurant because he's Jewish, would be a problem.A Jewish person, say an accountant or whatever, should not be compelled to do Louis Farrakhan's taxes. This is America and there should be consequences to Farrakhan and what he says and does
It's really not hard to say that people have to compete in what they were born as. To ignore the fundamental physiological differences is just beyond idiotic. I don't understand it.RT85 is just being an ass as usual.
I don't care about or watch much womens sports outside of UT softball but I have 2 and soon to be 3 granddaughters and if they choose to play sports I don't want their opportunities limited because of guys taking their spots.
I don't disagree with you, and I'm not defending my decision not to watch it. I just find the whole fundamentals argument to be terrible, especially when adult and professional women's teams always get waxed by boys U-15s across the board. That's a fundamentals problem there.
Maybe with full-on adults, but even the high-level U-15s, etc. have to play with some serious fundamentals- they just aren't developed enough yet. To me athleticism is just ability to more rapidly do the fundamentals anyway. And a lot of times we've seen underdogs and outgunned teams win by executing well. It literally never happens between women and men. You're confusing fundamentals with athleticism.

Rather than respond with such sarcastic personal attacks, which of course get us nowhere, how 'bout responding with substance? How 'bout clearly stating your stance on trans folks like Lia Thomas competing in women's sports?
It’s also all relative. You're confusing fundamentals with athleticism.
The link you posted is interesting, thanks. In Virginia, in my early memories and from my parents' comments, integration of restaurants for example was up to the owner. There were restaurants that would serve blacks and others that wouldn't. And things that weren't segregated in SWVa were in Central VA.That is wrong. I posted a link earlier showing all of the laws requiring segregation in the private sector.

Agreed. It's got to be based on ideology and not race, religion, sexual orientation. A born again Christian working at Deloitte Touche should not refuse to do accounting work for Johnny Weir if he comes walking in their doorI agree, Louis's an ass and I wouldn't work for him either. But said accountant refusing to work for any black person on principle, or Joe Christian refusing to let the accountant eat at his restaurant because he's Jewish, would be a problem.
Personally I don't find it very appealing from a competitive standpoint that trans folk are occasionally dominating women's sports, but I also don't follow women's sports at all so I'm not throwing a fit about it. I think Rockytop's point regarding the histrionics displayed when something like that happens is more rooted in a desire to virtue signal since the ones complaining are essentially like me and don't follow women's sports whatsoever. It's just another divisive issue to get everyone riled up and apparently it's working.
Why do you have to follow womens sports to support women being afforded the opportunity to compete? That's like saying "I'm not black, don't know any black people so why should I get riled up about civil rights?"
Lot's of men don't follow womens sports but have sisters, daughters, granddaughters, cousins, nieces ext that play sports.
As soon as you all clearly state your stance on PED testing in Masters CrossFit with similar quantity and intensity of outrage.Rather than respond with such sarcastic personal attacks, which of course get us nowhere, how 'bout responding with substance? This isn’t actually true. There are private competition organizers and governing bodies like FINA/World Aquatics that provide the option of competition under a different set of rules. FINA banned transgender athletes last year. The sad fact is most players aren't given a chance to vote on it, their only vote is with their feet and walking away from playing.

Great but currently there are at least 15 states that allow trans men to participate in womens scholastic sports by simply identifying as female. There are about 10 more that allow it with simple statements by family or medical professionals. With that being said, that is a state issue and the citizens in those states can act to change those rules.
